Comment:

Prof Marriott sets very clear expectations. Attendance is very important. She is very helpful and understanding if you show effort. Having access to a computer for online quizzes/homework is very important. The group projects are easy. She is very relaxed, but if you act "unprofessional" she will call you out. She has lots of business experience!

Comment:

Professor Marriott is an amazing professor. I took BUS-104 with her last year and I am taking her BUS-200 class now. Last semester, I had an anxiety attack before a test and she kindly let me retake it in her office the following day. I received a C on the test but she still gave me an A in the class. She's more concerned about effort than grades.

Comment:

She isn't the nicest professor, but she does know what she is talking about. You're allowed to use your notes on the tests, but beware sometimes the answers to the questions you can't find in your notes. The whole class is pretty much just going over powerpoints and at the end of the semester you have a business plan to make up and present.

+The class was very easy, it's one of those "copy the PowerPoints and you should be fine". Tests are open notes and are fairly easy. However, she is very rude. She is very insensitive to people, will call you out if you aren't paying attention or are late. She will dock your grade if you have too many absences or will kick you out.

Marcia is a great professor. She makes sure you know what you need to do in order to do well on the test. All the tests are open note, and she gives you a review sheet telling you exactly what you need to know in order to do well on the test. If you simply attend and take notes there is truly no reason to fail or get less than a B in the class.

Easy a but I do not feel like she really taught me any basic actual business stuff I would like to know. Where can I get info for suppliers or real life things like that which could help me with business project. So instead she has us watch an evangelical financial planner video who gives out OK advice at best.

Comment:

Marriott is an amazing teacher and person! She starts out guns'a'blazin' tough to set the tone but she's a sweetheart and very kind. Typical overqualified professor you'll find in MCC's business program; worked in Corporate America for her career. Now she's just passing on her knowledge and giving back. She also loves God!

Professor Marriott contradicted herself time and time again. She scolded one group for not having a "crucial" detail in their PowerPoint that she failed to mention at all. None of her students respect her (classmates talking in class the entire time) and she treated us like we were kids. DO NOT TAKE IF POSSIBLE! Otherwise, be prepared.

Intro to business was overall an easy A. she basically just shows you a PowerPoint of each chapter from the book and explain each slide. unit test are open notebook so the best thing to do is copy every PowerPoint slide word from word. All of my test grades were in the 90's. there is one group project at the d of the semester. its a business plan.

Reads from the PowerPoint which is straight from the book. Group projects and tests. Group projects are easy, tests are hard. Gives a review sheet; the tests have questions not on review sheet, like half of the test.

Was a very nice lady. Taught me how important it is to save. Test are open note test and the study guides are online so as long as you take notes you will be fine. There are 3 test weight at 60%, written assignments weighted at 15%, and group powerpoint presentation or solo if you choose to weighted at 25%

Comment:

She gives few tests but is a terrible grader. The entire class will get questions wrong but she won't notice it's her poor grading that causes it. Stacks the assignments up (a paper, group project and a test in the same week) with no time to work together with your group. Tests are open notes though, power points included. Get ready to be stressed
