I think Professor Stange is the most incredible professor I've had during my time at Skidmore. She's tough and so ridiculously worth it. I respect and admire her, and you're missing out on Skidmore if you haven't taken her class.

She's tough, very interesting and engaging. Only problem: she took the entire semester to hand us back ANY work at all! I also occasionally got the feeling that she just wanted us to tell her what she wanted to hear. Still, I don't regret taking the class. I learned a lot.

Great professor! Very engaging and very clear. If you pay attention in class you will be prepared for the tests. Stange is available for assistance and very encouraging. Highly recommend taking one of her classes.

Comment:

Mary Stange is genuine about what she teaches, and it shows in the way she conducts her class. She has a tough exterior, but is just extremely serious about the material, and for a good reason. I took feminist theory and methods with her, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Mary is a great professor. What I have noticed is that those who love her do the reading and care about the class, those who don't sit there in silence and make comments about not getting to the assignments. Once she asked the class if everyone knew who Mary Magdalene was, I was the only one who did. Pretty sad. Mary(stange)is a fantastic woman

One of my favorite professors. Very interesting and intelligent. She's amazingly helpful and fun to talk to. She can be a little tough, but her classes are always provocative and engaging, and every course I've taken with her has been my favorite of the semester.

This woman is very intelligent, but isn't usually given the credit for it. If she believes in you, she'll push you, and push you hard. She won't let you accept second best from yourself. She continues to be a mentor even post-graduation.
