Comment:

Mauricio can be tough and he is not afraid to tell you what he thinks. If he does not like your work you will know. He does not let you work on an idea if he knows you can do better. He pushes you which can be difficult but it is beneficial. He wants his students engaged and you have to be able to talk a lot about your design ideas for his respect.

Comment:

I was always warned that Mauricio was the hardest Studio professor there is to have. After having him, I now see where everyone was coming from, however, he is one of the best, if not, the best professor I have had at this school. I learned a lot from him not only about architecture, but what it takes to succeed in life. Be ready to work hard.

Has no knowledge of digital applications but will demand the use of Rhino in class. He is extremely bold and is not afraid to call you stupid on multiple occasions. He will get inside your head to the point where you will second guess every decision you make. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ARGUE. If he controls your designs be prepared to surrender yourself.

Mauricio is probably one of the best teachers I've had. He is tough and will challenge you to give the best that you can and make you think and work hard in everything that you do, but on the long run you will realize that choosing him was one of the best decisions. He'll seem intimidating at first but does know how to make a joke out of anything.

Mauricio is a hardass and for the first month or so he is impossible to please. Don't take it personally if he tears apart your ideas or models. I hated him at first but now I realize I learned so much from him. He can be an **** but if you don't take it personally he's a good professor. Don't be a pushover though, argue with him. He will respect you more.

extremely knowledgeable, Hetaught me a lot. Do not listen to the rumors that he will make you cry, or kill you (unless your a slacker) Make sure you like architecture if you want to take him, I highly recommend him as a professor. My favorite teacher at RWU so far.

Mauricio was an excellent teacher, i learned a ton from him. He is an excellent first year teacher, he'll put you down alot but get used to it if you really want to go into architecture. he's pretty intimidating the first time you meet him, but he jokes around alot once he gets to know you.

Hes a good guy, once you look passed his negative comments. He really knows his stuff though. I personally liked him. If i could, i would have him again next semester. He will put ppl down alot. Get ready to be put on the spot. He is the best teacher overall. You will learn so much from him, its great. Plus he has an awesome car!!!!!!!!!!!

Mauricio is awesome! i was terrified of him at first but after the first week you realize that hes a character and jokes around all the time. He wants the best and for some reason students want to give him the best. He knows his stuff! I would definately suggest taking him!

He is an excellent teacher. Granted he is tough and pushes you till you want to kill him. but you will learn to love his ways. he is definately one of the best teachers at RWU. Try him its lots of fun, for the rest of your studio career if your lucky

He is an awesome teacher. You will hate him at the time, but learn so so so much from him. Plus he is hilarious, he took us out to dinner at the end of the semester and hit on the waitress and downed a few bottles of wine. But seriously, this guy knows his stuff. You are lucky to learn from him.

I had Mauricio ten years ago, and I can't imagine that he's changed. You get out what you put in to his studio, and he demands that you put in EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT or don't bother showing up. Simply the strongest critic the school could hope for.
