I attended Western Oregon from 1995-1998. I enjoyed four history courses with Max. Although I earned "a gift" (D-) on my very first collegiate paper for not using proper APA-style formatting, he spent time with me to help me understand how I can be successful. He gave me a lot of support when it came to grammar, structure, etc. Thx, Max!

Worst professor ever! Has so much reading, the papers are impossible to pass if he doesnt like your view on the subject. is very discriminatory. expects you to think as an historian. reminds me of a grad class. Tutoring is a must.

First Dr. Geier is very nice. His class is a tough one. He assigns ALOT to read each week. You have to be up on the readings to do well. You need to be apart of the discussions! There are 3 in class informal reading presentations. These are helpful so you don't have to do ALL the reading yourself. 2 LONG papers and HARD EXAMS (IN CLASS ESSAYS)

ONE OF THE WORST PROFESSORS ON CAMPUS!!!! Avoid him like the plague! His expectations are unclear and his unwillingness to help struggling students is offensive.

Dr. Geier's class is one of the hardest I have taken at WOU. The material itself is fine, but he assigns A TON of reading each week. You have to keep up on it to do well. Keep up in class discussions! You have three very informal document presentations. I found these really helpful but you have to do them! MUST READ TO PASS THE TESTS AND PAPERS!

I had this guy at Washington State University around 1990. I still remember him. He taught with a passion and focus that you don't forget. A professor now myself, I try to bring to my lectures the same kind of zeal. He was demanding, but he made history so interesting, you barely noticed.

This was by far the most demanding class that I have ever taken. He expects a lot out of his students, but he is willing to help you get there. One of the best classes that I have ever taken. Very worthwhile, just be ready to work.
