this was a good class overall you do fieldwork throughout the semester that is 50% of your grade so if you have a tight schedule do not take her. if you do 7 extra credits you do not have to take the final. only take her if you have a lot of time on your hands.

She is an awesome person and was highly recommended by other students. But I had a difficult time following her lectures this quarter. It was pretty disorganized and unclear, so many things were left in the air. The fieldwork was fun, just make sure you don't team up with slackers and you must make additional time outside of class.

I loved taking this class during Fall 2012. Read the articles because they are very important for the mid-term and final. I waited last minute and it was a lot of reading but still got an A. For the final you can take it or do an extra credit assignment and get an automatic A. I did the extra credit. Loved this class opened my eyes.

Professor Abdullah challenged me to think critically about the world around me. She took a great deal of time and care to help those in her class approach difficult concepts and fully understand their import. My worldview has changed since taking her class. More importantly, my eyes have opoened since learning from her.

She encourages personal critque and loves class participation. She is bad with emailing back. She is very smart & knows how to make people think critically. Lots of extra credit chances. Tests are short answer and essay format, easy if you read your stuff. Class is very interesting so make sure you go!
