Currently taking this online. He's extremely unresponsive, and his syllabus does not follow the class schedule at all. To make matters worse, he refuses to answer emails or questions to clarify. I have taken many 300 level online classes with ease, but his unresponsiveness is making a 100 level class frustrating and unnecessarily difficult. Sad.

By far the best professor in the PSC department. He is extremely knowledgeable on the Middle East and foreign policy. His personal insights also make the class interesting. No homework. 3 exams (he gives you the questions that will be on them ahead of time). Go to class and write down what he writes on the board. Sadly, this is my last class w/ him

Fun class for sure. I think he is the best at CMU. He knows how to make it interesting. Very respectful of students. Attendance is mandatory and would impact your grasp of the material. He used to let us early in PSC 151 but not in his other classes. I have taken all his classes and would recommend him to you.

He tries to make attendance mandatory, but it doesnt always work. He is very passionate about this subject, and often gets very expressive, and ends by saying you think im crazy. He grades things really easy, and is a great guy. He does bust texters however. He lets out early, we went the full time only once every three weeks. Great prof, take him!

Brilliant class and brilliant prof. Moataz is funny and enjoyalbe too.He knows the Middle East as he knows his house. I enjoyed the class. Lots of readings though. The exams are somewhat challenging if you do not do the readings and take good notes of his lectures and other students' presentations.

Methods class... very tough material but he is very good at it. It is life changing class. I started to feel now that politics is a real "science." It is mandatory class. You will have to take it for pol sci major. Take it with him.

Maybe the best political science professor at CMU.... He presents the material very well through use of his website & videos/documentaries. Go to class & write down what he has on the board. The final paper/current event are easy. Exams: He gives you the questions that will be on them beforehand. Prepare your answers ahead of time & you'll get an A

Moataz is my favorite professor at CMU. I was nervous about taking this class, but he made it easy and enjoyable. He presents the material very well. If you don't skip class, take notes, and pay attention, you'll get an A for sure. Don't buy the books. He never uses them because all of this information is on his website.

He knows what he is talking about. Very uncommon world view. I had him for 3 classes including the methods one. Great instructor all around. Take his classes, attend, take good notes, you will be in great shape.

He is very nice guy and overall easy to understand. He lectures the whole class using his website & videos. He made the class very, very interesting. There are 2 tests and a final. He gives you the questions that will be on them before hand so you just need to look them up. He grades the writing project & current event easy. Highly recommended!

Fattah is a nice guy. And you can tell he's really knowledgeable about what he's talking about, but it doesn't come across when you get the exam. It's usually all from the book and not a single thing from lecture. But class is mandatory, so you have to go. He's great on his off time, but I felt even if I did the reviews, I'd still get a C.

Exquisite scholar and teacher.I had a wonderful time in his classes. Brilliant and fun class, and I could definitely see that Moataz will be a world renown scholar. Never condescending. Also, an easy A.

This class was extremely boring and there are only 2 tests, plus the final and one big writing project. Grades easy on writing assignments, but it is a little hard to understand his accent sometimes when he gets caught up in a subject. Moataz is hilarious though and starts every class with,"HELLLOOOOOOOO how are you guys!?, guys, do you hate me?"
