I took this class for my theatre major. She was very poor on what she wanted and she always told me my papers where not good. Avoid this professor if you think you will be good at writing papers.

English has always been my favorite/best subject until I came to college.. I agree with everyone.. she jumps from topic to topic and doesnt stay on task.. also she talks super fast and never seems to get her point across clearly.I wouldnt recommend taking her if youre not a strong writer & dont feel strongly about your writing skills.

Most of the complaints I'm seeing appear to be less about this professor and more about her expectation of college-level work. Her grading is on the tough side, but fair - with many opportunities to revise the big papers. Beyond the grading, she is pleasant and interesting.

She doesn't seem to care about whether you get what she is talking about or not. She makes you put in a lot of effort and extra time re-doing papers only to give you a bad grade anyways. I would seriously not recommend her to anyone, even to people who think their easiest subject is english.

She took forever to grade papers, all my assignments were handed back to me and told me to revise them. Have to revise papers several times. Stands in front of class room and just talks and bounces around to several different topics at once. Very confusing and hard to follow along with. I do not recommend taking any of her classes!!!

She's not the best professor, but she's not the worst either. She does take forever to grade, which I really do not find helpful. I liked that she didn't care about what copies of the plays we had to read. I wasn't too crazy about the group projects though, I hated those. I like that she let the class vote on the plays we would do.

99% of the time she is talking about random stuff that either makes no sense or is irrelevant to the class. she takes months to grade your paper and you only write four major ones. she is a hard grader, she expect papers to be perfect. i would not recommend her. I regret taking her class.

If you ask her for help, she tends to give you an attitude and just brushes you off. She is extremely rude. If you email her, she does not email you back for at LEAST a week! I will NEVER take this professor again, and would not recommend her to anyone. I wish I would have went on this website before taking her class!!

She is literally the worst teacher I have ever had... I loved English classes until hers. She took literally FOREVER to grade everything, and by the time you got feed back on a paper it was just too late. I don't know how she is still a professor here. I strongly do not recommend her.

I had her for English I so please take my advice. DO NOT TAKE HER. She is on a serious power trip and all you will ever hear is how she has been at NCC for 30 years. Be prepared to work your butt off on papers and assignment and not get the grade you deserve and essentially failing. I aced all papers in other classes. See the problem?

Professor Trautmann's class is not easy, but if you are willing to really work on reading and analyzing the literature and putting a lot of thought into your papers, then you will learn quite a bit.
