Great class. Its one of the few upper-div biology classes useful for life. Material presented clearly. Tests can include obscure questions, but fair grader. Has some great guest lecturers, like Dr. Navazio who is the most enthusiastic Italian man ever.

She teaches both 135E & 135K. I took both. 135E is more worth-taking, applicable and makes more sense. 135K is a theory class and a memorization class. the main point is exercise, eat healthy and don't use drugs to live longer. No textbook needed. Powerpoint class. Test are from slides but can be random. Pay attention to pictures, diagram.

The professor is really nice and at time pretty funny. She is has a cool italien accent, but her lectures are always clear and straightforward. Tests are right out of the reader. Information is pretty interesting also.

class was really interesting, and she threw in a couple of jokes here and there. Her tests were mostly on the lecture notes, with a few random questions based on graphs/tables in the reading. Sometimes questions were a bit TOO specific, and the the practice exams/study guides never had any key so you have to compare with other students.

I hope you have a laptop because she goes through slides like it's going out of style. Don't bother reading the book. It won't help you. Just memorize the lecture notes because you'll have to regurgitate the information on the short answer part of the exams. If you know the lecture notes, you'll get an A.

She uses PowerPoint lectures that are packed with information that you need to write down quickly and memorize. Her lectures are clear and interesting and all that you need to do on the exams is reproduce her PowerPoint.
