His lecture slides are incredibly helpful! You do learn a lot from this class and it's easy to get an A if you study! He is a really nice guy - yes a little boring but it's worth it for a teacher that tries to help you and that gives a lot of materials to study with.

He is extremely good at putting you to sleep, and his lectures are pretty useless. I never went to class, just read his lecture notes (very helpful) and slides, and got an A. His quizzes are pretty random and stupid; harder than what you'd expect. final was super easy if you knew your stuff. 5 quizzes 1 final; 1 quiz dropped. section mandatory.

Prof. Wilt is just the sweetest guy! He types lecture notes after each lecture, and usually lectures are audiocast as well. The txtbook isn't mandatory. You take 5 quizzes and a final, but you can drop 1 quiz grade. Section assignments are just 2 page essays. Took the class for Psych prereq and ended up liking it! Not usually interested in Bio.

Professor Wilt is a great professor. He's like 60 years old, but he's been places and knows his stuff. He explains the concepts well and has fair quizzes. Best part: doesn't believe in having midterms. :)

Funny, smart as a whip with a mid-western sensibility. I wish more professors taught like this.

I took mcb 41 thinking it wasn't gonna be a killer. Professor wilt lectures seemed easy and understandable. But the tests were unfair and hard. The grading was terrible. you either say the word they are looking for or you don't get any points.

Good lecturer. Organized and clear. Loves numbers--joules of energy/ATP, how long stretched out chromosome is. Love that he posts all his notes online afterwards--I just read through those before his MT and aced it.

Really nice guy and a very great lecturer. Unfortunately his section required rote memorization but it wasn't anything that's not good to know. Wilt is clearly a great biologist but he was a pretty bad chemist; he made a few small mistakes and conceptual flubs but never anything bad: just annoying to me as a chemist. Overall great prof, though!

Mostly just review material from biology. The exams can be tricky. It's just that each question is worth a lot of points, so if you miss one, you're down a couple of points here and there. (And I thought it was super easy). They look for SPECIFIC works in your answers. Weekly quizzes can hurt your grade. MUST go to lecture - hints at exam material.

Wilt is a good professor; he's pretty funny, but his lectures are kind of boring. The course was pretty easy. Don't take it unless you have to or have never taken biology before because the material covered is very very simple and the text that we used seemed very outdated.

The class material was very easy to understand, but I don't know if it was the professor or the GSIs, but exam grading was pretty unfair. No regrades were allowed and they were very strict on partial credit. Miss one "key word" and you get 0/15 points for that question. Class would've been better if exams were graded more efficiently.

Awesome! Straightforward class... organized lectures. No midterm which was GREAT... just 5 quizzes, lowest dropped... and each quiz takes about 10 minutes... he posts outlines after each of his lectures which really helps to study for the final. My GSI was superb as well... helpful and made discussion fun. Good content class... highly recommend

There are 5 quizzes and 1 is dropped. Quizzes are pretty easy and easy grading. Final isn't too hard. Take this class for breadth or prereq. If you do not understand GSI goes over in discussion or you can ask him to.

I consider myself pretty inept at science, including biology, but this is an interesting and easy class. Prof Wilt really tries to make sure students understand the material. Extrem. helpful lecture notes online and quizes are usually simple, with pretty generous grading. If you study and know the material, final is fairly easy, too.
