The absolute worst teacher that I have ever had. I wouldn't even take basket weaving 101 from this guy. He seems proud that so many people drop his course and don't show up for his lectures (which are totally useless).

Worst teacher I've had. He basically highlights all the captions in the textbook for lectures. Exams are hard, the class average for 3 exams were mid 60% with many people end up dropping. DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING.

If I had read this site before I would have never taken him. He expects you to get this and that is crazy. The practice exams are a joke, he wants you to know all the material and that is not realistic at all. You go in circles trying to make sure you covered everything and you still are not ready for the exams, and there is no extra credit

This class was pretty atrocious. Edgar isn't a bad guy, but he is a horribly professor. Very unclear of what to expect, and he focuses only on the people doing well in the class (who seem to have a natural inclination). Your only grades are from tests. DO NOT TAKE HIM if you do not already know a great deal of Chemistry!

Lectures... went super slow on the easy material and flew through the hard stuff. Labs did not reflect what was learned in the previous lectures, rather, you had to read a chapter ahead to do the pre-lab. If you're a female, don't go to him after class for help.

I don't agree with the reviews for Mr. Edgar either. He is helpful if he sees that you are putting effort into the class. He has a sense of humor, and does go off on little tangents, but it all comes back around to the point he's trying to make. Practice tests are like exams. And...I am female and feel safe around him!

This guy is kind of lazy and unhelpful. His rambling "lectures" are a joke. He can't teach or explain things well at all. I am an "A" student and usually like profs but stay away if you don't want to completely teach yourself chem with the book. He nice enough but that doesn't make it any easier to sit through his boring, unhelpful classes.

he is all over the place, very hard to follow. reading the book helps little, most test questions were very hard to find. only plus was no hand in homework, big minus was that he didnt go over any of the worksheets or give correct answers.

Difficult to learn from. Refused to give a syllabus that listed chapters that should be read for what class. We spent 3wks on the first chapter and suddenly we were in chapter 5. When you did manager to read the correct chapter before class he was all over the place. Not helpful with questions.

I really don't agree with these reviews for Prof. Edgar. At times, he does go off subject and will not always write things on the board. But, I found his class to be extremely easy. Practice tests were very similar to tests. No hand in homework was also a plus.

Nice guy but..There's no way he should be teaching an entry level course.He is all over the place when teaching.Says the book is hard to read(w/degree)but expects you to understand. Reviews have nothing to do with what is put on test. Goes over stuff that you dont need. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM. AVG STUDY TIME/DAY 2-3 HRS. I just don't think he cares if you get it or not. He just keeps going and doesn't go over assigned chapters.
