Comment:

Enjoyed having him for general ed classes and also for upper level classed. He will make sure you learn the material but he genuinely cares. He does not put up with shenanigans and if you are serious about learning (as you should be in college) you will do fine. I highly recommend.

Comment:

Almost all of what you need to know comes straight from the powerpoints he goes over every day in class. Very laid back and caring. Study what he teaches, do the homework and you'll do fine

I found myself depending soley on the textbook to learn. His lectures were factual, but he begins to ramble a lot of times and always involves his opinions in lectures whether the class asks for it or not. His tests are really difficult and always 90-100 questions. I found myself struggling to make a C in his Old Test. class

Comment:

Dr Wilbanks is a great guy, but his class is really hard. The notes and lectures do not match up with the tests. The tests contain the most random information that no one would think to remember. No matter how much I studied, I never felt prepared for a test, and my grades weren't good.

He's a very strange person and not a particularly good teacher. His class is very much rote memorization of random facts. Way too hard for a gen ed in my opinion. Tests are awful and very very long. Also the only thing he ever grades are tests and pop quizzes. He's pretty sexist and likes to bring his political views into every discussion. Ugh.

I had Wilbanks for Old Test. and was very excited to have him based on the reviews. However, I would honestly not recommend his class as its much too hard for a general class, and non Christian studies majors. I found myself studying more for his class than all my other 2000+ level classes. His tests are confusing because they cover random details

Dr. Wilbanks is by far the best teacher I've ever had! If at all possible you need to get him. His tests are difficult, but if you study the notes word for word you will do just fine! He is hilarious and really cares about his students. He is my favorite teacher :)

Comment:

Exactly what a professor should be. Funny, interesting, and helpful to students. Challenging but straightforward. If you KNOW the notes, you WILL get an A. Take him for Old Testament if at all possible. One of the best professors I've had at NGU.
