Dr. Norris is really an incredible prof. Ochem is a very difficult subject, but he has tons of available online practice, and is always available for questions in office hours. If you keep up on the content and ask him questions it is a manageable class.

Dr. Norris is a great professor. Ive only been at YSU for a year and already see how much better he is than all the professors Ive had thus far. If you dont understand something, go see him. He stresses going to office hours heavily and I highly recommend going. Its not easy by any means, but be prepared to put in a lot of work.

From the start of ochem 1 to the end of ochem 2 less than half the class passed. Also there will no longer be SI.

Dr. Norris is simply one of the best professors at YSU. He is a great guy who really cares about his students. Ochem isn't an easy subject by any stretch, but he makes it very doable with tons of online material and outside of class help. Office hours and recitation are strongly recommended. The ONLY way to do Ochem in my opinion.

You probably know that OChem is a very difficult class and Dr. Norris makes sure to remind you that unless you put in the effort you will fail. But he is a fantastic teacher and provides countless ways to succeed in the class. His website is extremely valuable and he always makes himself available if you need help. Overall, Fantastic Professor.

Dr. Norris makes organic chemistry doable, but if you aren't willing to put in the work, he will make sure you know that you're going to fail. Can be funny at times, but is often very serious. Do the practice problems and practice exams, they help a lot.

The 3rd exam only had 3 As unacceptable. He tells us to ask questions in class, but in reality he is trying to trick you so that you have less time to learn the other material, which will be heavily tested. He has said If you dont read this all weekend, you might as well not come to class on Monday. He tells you you are going to fail everyday.

He's the most knowledgeable professor I've had so far. He understands organic well and is probably the best person to take it with. It's obviously a very difficult course so prepare accordingly. Go to SI, office hours, recitation and do all online assignments on his website. This class isn't like others, but Norris helps make it as clear as can be.

He is one of my favorite professors and I learned a lot from his class. He really helps prepare you for MCAT, etc. makes jokes in lecture and explains things well. He will not like you if you aren't in recitation and don't go to office hours. Incredibly smart and passionate he almost convinced me to change my major. OCHEMs a tough class in general

One of the toughest professors/classes I've ever had but Norris does a great job clearly explaining the material and being accessible when you need him.

You definitely have to approach this class differently than other ones you've taken especially Gen chem 1 and 2 - this requires practice every night. Norris has a true passion for ochem and is great at conveying the material, though he does teach fast at times, however he is super available for questions. how well you do depends on your desire

umm he is not bad obviously knows his stuff however makes you feel dumb when you ask questions and when you go to his office to ask questions its just him blabbering and you usually leave there more confused then when you went in and sometimes he pulls questions on tests on things you covered in class for 2 minutes and never had any practice

Dr. Norris has been the most helpful professor I've had thus far. He has a ridiculous amount of online resources to supplement the lecture, so you'll never run out of practice problems. He realizes he is preparing many students for the next level and takes that very seriously. Not an easy A, but this class will make you a better critical thinker.

Dr Norris takes his role of preparing students for pre- medpharmaetc very seriously, and the course difficulty and depth of material reflects it. There is no reason anyone can't do well in this class if they put the time, effort, and discipline into it. Take recitation!! And see him in office hours, he has a whole different persona than class.

In a word: AMAZING! Dr. Norris is always there to help you if you need it. He gives good lectures, and as long as you show up, ask question, study hard and go to SI you'll be fine. You always get a key when you get your tests back so you can make sure he graded right. Can be a bit rude, but it's usually because he really likes you. Would take again

Fantastic professor, very sassy but he really knows his stuff. Makes class interesting and motivates you to try your best. Keeps you on your toes in class by asking and answering questions. Very helpful in office hours and has tons of resources available (videos). You will work hard for your grade but you will actually understand organic chemistry.

I don't like his personality, and I believe his expectations for the average student are outrageous. You should go to class every day and study every day, if you don't do those 2 things expect a C or lower.
