He gives a good amount of homework, but only had one quiz the whole semester. He allows and expects you to make revisions on assignments for some points back. He makes some of the topics we learn a little confusing. Really great professor!

Brilliant professor! A little disorganized, as I quote him, "Did you all know we had a website?!" But he is passionate and cares about his students. You really have to work to earn an A if you're taking theory as a music major. No tests in musi471, but a fair amount of homework. Favorite professor of all time!!

I took music theory with Urquhart and it was amazing. Very accommodating and easy to do well while also learning. I also did some Renaissance stuff with him, and he is beyond brilliant. Absolutely seek this man out.

Sometimes he's a bit disorganized, but in an endearing way - as long as you're not a real type A personality it's fine. He's one of the nicest professors I've had, he's really passionate about what he does, and he really knows his stuff! I have taken three classes with him so far, he's awesome!

Extremely unclear in each class, and the only thing that you are graded on is your ability to memorize random bits of songs that are all very similar, and specific information about each one. He is kind and passionate about his job and music, but his handwriting is horrible and he is completely unorganized in his teaching method.

Dr. Urquhart is a wonderful teacher. He is incredibly knowledgeable and his lecturing is fascinating. He is a wonderful musician and a good, kind person. He knows his ficta! I would strongly recommend studying with him if you have the opportunity to do so.

He is a horrible teacher and what he teaches in class pertains to nothing that is on the quizes. He springs quizes on you at the last second usually by emailing you the morning of the quiz at 1 o'clock. Avoid this man and his classes you will regret it!

Definately one of the best music professors at UNH. Both a great teacher and very personable. No one who's had him could NOT like him!
