Took one of his classes loooong ago think grunge and "Friends." Anyhoo. Ive since received my undergrad and graduate degrees. Still the worst class Ive taken. His lectures were like trying to sit through an insurance seminar when youre not in the insurance industry. Hes a nice enough guy, though. In a cult leader type of way.

Pierre Grimes is most true teacher of love and growth. He taught me how to read, write, think, and speak at the highest level compare to many men and teachers that I came accross of 58 years within my life time. My continue growth and success would not be possible without his commitment and dedication.

pierre grimes is a wonderful man, but his teaching style is no horrible. it seemed like he didn't wanna be here. don't buy the book, you won't even open it. he lectures every single class about random things. some lectures are more interesting than others. no tests, midterm, quizzes.. nothing. we had 1 paper due as final, easy A but very unclear.

Grimes is an easy A. This class had barely any work, I wrote one 5 page paper & I'm not even sure he read it. He doesn't give any clear outline as to what will be required of you. There were no quizzes, no tests, no reading material; he taught all by lecture. But, he does require you to expand your thinking- that I liked. Plus, he's pretty funny.

Reading the comments have made me laugh. His classes are about more than the material. It is about developing your abiltiy to think for yourself. To not play the story in your head but read what is acutally written. To discuss a higher level of intelligence than college alone can give you. I took all of Pierres classes back when I was younger and he is the reason I have become so successful. So if you are looking for another grade to graduate so you can move on then maybe his classes are not for you. If you have plans to not only get your degreee but to use it as a platform to create change and pave the future of your industry then please take this class, it will be the best class you ever take.

I'm 40 y/o now and a very successful entrepreneur. I took all of Pierre's class in my undergrad many moons ago. I can honestly say that Pierre is a diamond in the rough and was the most valuable teacher I ever had, and I've learned from some of the best. The people with poor comments on here want to be robots. Don't be a robot, think for yourself.

Do Not Take This Class! I repeat Do Not! Very nice man but very unclear about what he is lecturing about. If you ask him a question he will just ignore you. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Brilliant man with a vast knowledge in the ideas of thinking. Does not care for what you think, but rather HOW you think. The goal for his classes are to educate the students on their own beliefs. He does not want to confuse the student, but rather attempt to concrete your ideas with sound knowledge and simple truths.

Great man to learn about philosophy from - No syllabus, attendance, or assignments, except for one essay at the end. Great for learning about the concept of defining morality. Only qualm is that he dodges questions and does not seem to be very helpful. It's an easy A, but what you gain is much more than that if you keep up.

Pierre-genius, kind, sharp, irreverent, utterly fascinating. Those who found him boring needed this class the most. Tip: names/events he mentions during lecture- research them on your own.Be accountable for your own education- the stuff your going to learn will blow. your. mind. Seriously.

hes funny and confusing.isn't organized and ignores his students a lot (literally) if u ask him a question he acts as though he didn't see you. But it's actually pretty easy if u just listen to what he has to say. His lectures are boring, but it helps to take notes. We had 2 essays the whole semester passed the class with a "B". Take his class!

No syllabus. No "tests". Assigns sections in the books that don't exist. He says and I quote: "Don't think, I don't want to hear what you have to say, if I did I would study you not the books."

I think he is capable of being a great teacher although he has a few grave problems. His writing on the board is incomprehensible, he doesn't hear (or ignores) students sometimes. He never gave out a syllabus, I'm completely confused.

It isn't a hard class to take if you actually think for yourself and listen to what he's telling you to do. I've taken several of his classes. All you have to do is read the book that he tells you to and participate in class and you'll get an A every time.

Best teacher I've had in my college life. Questions your thinking, raises puzzles creates mysteries out of the ideas and original texts, brings you to see what you don't know what your are talking about, You either face, recognize that you don't know or you fight and become angry at him for bringing you to see what you didn't know.

If you are a student who expects a teacher to help you every step of the way because you have been spoon feed you education instead of actually learning for yourself, you will not like this class. This class requires you to actually think for yourself and you will need the whole semester to do so. If you think then take the class.

Pierre is one of my favorite instructors because his unorthodox methods of teachings are uncompromisable and uniquely fitting for any philosophy class. Don't expect to get an easy A. He really wants EVERY student to achieve a higher power of learning, questioning and reasoning. I love taking his classes because you actually learn.
