I had this teacher many years ago.Back then she acknowledged that she was hard to understand and wrote on the board to help the students. She was very kind and soft spoken but I sat in the back of the room and didnt have a problem. Her name is not RAGWINDER either.. How rude! We used to call her DR.Raffi and she is a great teacher.Lucky to have her

Her accent is very hard to adjust to. I had a headache trying to listen to her the first few weeks, but eventually you can understand her. Her class is pretty easy. Just read the chapters and powerpoints. The tests are a breeze!

Very knowledgeable, has a lot of interesting anecdotes that relate to the material. You do not have to show up a lot, just for the reviews. I got hundreds on all her tests. Soft spoken but she uses a mic. She has very subtle humor. She assigns two group projects.. Overall an easy A

She is unintelligible and her lectures consist of unrelated rantings and allegories that teach your literally nothing about the material. I got an A because I never attended class except to take the tests and I read the textbook on my own. So if this is your preference then take her class, but if you want an active teacher do not.

Not only is her accent thick and hard to understand, but she relies on a microphone that she can't even hear herself with. Sociology and reverb with a mousy voice equals absolutely distracting! Although she is very knowledgeable, she is extremely biased. If she does not like you, she is not willing to help. Not much work, but only because she isn't organized at all. You can tell she has a lot of experience in the field, but it's never interesting to learn about it all.

OK . . . HERE'S THE DEAL. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. AGAIN DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She's an intelligent lady, yes, She's nice, yes, but you CANNOT UNDERSTAND A WORD SHE SAYS, AND THE COARSE WAS POORLY ORGANIZED. You will have to pretty much teach yourself. I withdrew from the class because I had literally no idea what was going on.

Dr. Ravi is a great teacher. She is incredibly knowledgeable in this field. You have group projects and an individual project as well as extra credit. If you get anything less than an A or B it is definitely a reflection on the individual!

Dr. Ravi is one of the most sympathetic, empathetic, knowledgeable and helpful instructors on campus. To get less then an A in this class is a reflection on the individual. I think it is rather funny how people are reacting to her on this site. Dr. Dhindsa is working on a sociological study. She is actually only 45 years old and speaks perfect, clear English. She is studying how students react to her behavior. I can't believe no one notices this. Go to her office and ask about it. She'll tell you. Just kidding!

Has horrible speech skills! I'm not referring to ability to speak English, I mean speech itself. Doesn't move about the class, hides in a corner, doesn't use board properly, can't operate Microphone OR projector, and mumbles. Most of class was asleep or texting. Professor was polite and understanding, however, and explained the course well.
