I got an A, but I had to work hard for it. Mr. Hayden brought so much more than knowledge of the subject, he brought experience and a heart to reach and encourage the next generation. Make sure you're there for his final speech of the class, it's the second part of the final, but something you'll never forget!

Mr. Hayden is a very humble and sweet man. Though his lectures are not directly related to his content of his exams you can get a general gist of it. Going to class was basically listening to his accomplishments and what he's experience and he's very respectable. As long you can split the work amongst a group of people you should do fairly well

Great teacher. Great knowledge and knows his stuff very well. If you pay attention while he is teaching and take notes on what he emphasize, you will do just fine. I enjoyed his class. Great knowledge of history. I took summer class.

Mr. Hayden's lectures are like the equivalent of bedtime stories. He would talk about his life in politics and ramble on, but he is a good man inside and outside the class. 3 100 pt exams and 1 5-10 page research paper. He curves the exams and just grades the paper based on if you did it or not.

I had him over the summer. Firstly, you will be extremely bored, unless you're the type of person who is intrigued by people's life stories (because he talks about his life a lot). Secondly, you can literally study the content of the 100-question exams (there are 3 of them) through his study guides. Just look for the answers in the book.

A great person, no doubt. Hard class, exams are 100 questions each. It's hard to hear him. Harder to understand him if english is not your first language. He talks more about his life than politic tho, even tho he was really active in politics. Read the book instead.

HARD. Ive never disliked a class so much. He didnt talk at all about Gov. almost everything was about his life. (which is not on the test). Reading the book didnt help me at all. The tests were 200 questions and the study guides were so confusing. If you want a easy class take another teacher.

GREAT TEACHER!! one of the best in the school!! he is retired but he comes back to teach because he gets bored at home. he is very funny. he was the mayor of sunnyvale && all other kinds of stuff so he knows his politics!! he is very well spoken, it makes you want to listen. take his class before he really retires!

It is not hard to get A from this Pro. If u're determined and hard working, u'll be happy for ur grade. His class requires reading a lot, and most of the questions in the test are the knowledge in the book. Unfortunately for some guys take this class but don't really spend their time on reading books, their grade can't more than B >.< READ UR BOOK

I hated American Government before this class but he really made it interesting. He's one of my favorite teachers, a really nice guy, he'll try to help you out as much as possible. I'm looking forward to taking history from him during summer. He tells you all about his experiences (building the school and political).

A great Political Science teacher. I consider Prof. Hayden a top tier teacher because: First, I didn't have much interest in politics and now I do. Second, I learn closely second hand about the real political arena. Third, he is interesting and motivational. He is retired and full of experience, so take his class for more than just a grade in GE.

EXCELLENT teacher! I highly recommend taking one of his classes! His personal experience in politics is extensive, so he really knows the system from the inside out, and will tell you what it's really like. He tells both sides of every story. His tests are tough: read the textbook (I learned this the hard way)! He really appreciates participation.

He's the best government teacher I have ever had! I highly recommend taking one of his classes--I wish I could take more! He really knows his stuff (he's experienced practically all of it first hand!), and keeps the class interesting. His tests are tough, so read the textbook (studying is necessary, sadly)! He also really appreciates participation.

He is a great government teacher. He has been a state assemblyman and a mayor so he knows this stuff well! Best of all is he can tell you stories about people like Ronald Reagan because he knew them! The only regret I have is that I can't take other classes from him!

Mr Hayden is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He has a passion for what he teaches and that shows. As the first president of Mission College he has a strong desire to see his students succeed. I enjoyed his classes so much that I switched my POLIT001 to him. Best of all he grades on a CURVE so 75 out of 100 on a test might be an A!!!

Hayden is a great man. He founded Mission college. He's old. He has a huge experience in government, even used to be mayor of Sunnyvale. He is inspirational and very intelligent. His multiple choice tests are some of the hardest I have ever taken, and half the time his lectures don't fully prepare you for them. I hear chandler is much easier.
