What can I say that hasnt been said? I should talk about the textbook and how it was written by Wall and his co-workers and doesnt take the Bible at all for what it is, missing the main theological points. The book is like Walls lectures: goes on and on without saying anything at all. Test questions are usually drawn DIRECTLY from the reading.

I had Dr. Wall the first quarter I attended spu. It seems like he wants the class to be discussion based, but almost immediately takes over the conversation until we run out of time. The weekly quizzes are full of vague questions. The worst of all? You will NEVER get an A in his class. He holds a high standard, but never explains how to get there.

Dr. Wall is very lecture heavy. The syllabus was very unorganized and totally useless but if you ask, he provides clear instructions. Lots of readings and homework that sometimes isn't super clear, again, ask! Overall nice guy as far as theology professors go. Fair grader- If you provide sufficient evidence, he will not mark you down.

assigns an ungodly amount of reading and homework for those readings. On top of that he grades your homework hard without any real criteria for it. he also gives quizzes that sometimes have super subjective questions, questions that werent covered in the reading, and questions that are super specific. hes a nice guy but i do not recommend him

Awful. He is a Free Methodist and if you disagree with any of his beliefs and bring them up in class he will take his frustrations out on your grade. All assignments are out of 10 points and I never received more than 8/10 though I CLEARLY followed the guidelines of the assignments.

This class was all about reading, with a quiz every single week. You will NOT get an A in this class as he calls a 10/10 the "elusive" 10 aka you will never get 100% on an assignment. His quizzes are very difficult and he isn't completely clear in his questions. He does offer a quiz retake however. His lectures can get very boring.

This class was the most difficult classes I've taken at SPU, by far. If you ask a question in class, be prepared to be even more confused AFTER he answers. When he begins his sentences, he is loud and clear, but as his sentence continues, he becomes quieter and quieter, almost to a whisper. He is pompous and seems to enjoy flaunting his knowledge.

Here's the DL on Wall: he's a hard grader who makes you work for your grade, but boy do you learn. a. lot. I wasn't interested in the subject of theology before this class but Wall's assignments really inspired me. I would definitely take him again, and getting an A isn't impossible if you consistently turn in quality work and show him you care.

Dr. Wall is very, very passionate and incredibly knowledgeable. I love to listen to him talk about theology. That being said, he grades incredibly hard and his quizzes are next to impossible unless you literally wrote the textbook (which he did). He gives a ton of homework but it's all related to the class very closely.

Sometimes vague with his requirements, I enjoyed Prof Wall's class. He is very passionate about the subject (and his point of view). He assigns a homework assignment for each class period, so it does take work. It feels like a safe place to express what you believe, and go on a deeper level with your peers.

As a person, I like Dr. Wall. He seems kind, he's incredibly passionate, and one of the most intelligent professors I've had. However, as a professor, I can't handle him. I will never take another one of his classes again simply for the fact he has no basis for his homework grades (or the obscene amount) and his tests are super hard. Best of luck..

Avg of 15 hours week on homework. Tough grader, specifically said in class that he gives very few A's and mostly C's. Don't really feel as if his grading represents the quality of homework you turn in. Attendance not really required, as you can teach yourself everything on your own time. Avoid this classprof if at all possible.

Dr. Wall is the worst professor EVER. He is extremely boring and condescending. He assigns way too much homework and does not respect his students whatsoever. He has no basis for his grades, he just makes up whatever he wants at the end. Even though he doesn't even know your name, I guess he thinks he can grade you. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.

This class is so boring with Wall. I try to stay awake each class and manage to fall asleep every time. As he talks he gets more and more quiet. His class setup is also very confusing but once you get it(You will its the same EVERY DAY) you find out you hate the way its set up. Would never recommend a class with him

My class with Wall was one of my favorites. He is passionate and smart and I learned a lot from the class. There is a sufficient amount of homework but it is all useful and the tests aren't too hard.

Dr. Wall is scary smart...sometimes a little too scary though. Especially for a first quarter freshmen class...I wouldn't take another class from him, simply because I don't want to die via homework...but it was interesting and I'm glad I got to know him. Great guy...but a little intimidating at times...its his way, or nothing at all...

He is a VERY intelligent person, but doesn't explain his reasoning sometimes. He talks really slow and lectures a lot. He's a moderate teacher (it seems like he knows too much to dumb it down even a little). The class is hard. Expect 2-3 hrs. of homework per assignment (M,W,F).
