Comment:

I took his class a few years back. Professor Oventile is a very kind professor, no doubt. But, the books were beyond pretentious and confusing. I have no idea why he assigns any of Sandy Florian's books, as they seem like they were copied from a random word generator. Come to this class for Dr. Oventile and a good grade, not to be a better reader.

Comment:

Get ready to love science fiction for 16 weeks. One thing I really liked about this class is Professor Oventile is basically reading the book at the same time as us. Usually teachers have right answers about what the meaning of the book is, but this way he left it open for interpretation, and it was less pressure to engage in class. Excellent prof.

Mr. Oventile is the best! His classes are thoughtful and inspiring. Interesting and important subject material. Super chill and quiet. He really cares about his student's work and gives great feedback. 10/10 recommend! I'm taking his honors class.

Comment:

Getting an A in Oventile's class is easy to do, I took him for both 1A and 1B, and I'm by no means a great writer. However, I was able to obtain an A extremely easily both semesters. Im not an english major so I appreciate Dr. Oventile's class as one less thing to worry about. If you're taking his class, sit in the very back and do other work.

Professor Oventile is such a great professor. His class is easy to pass. You should def come to class because he checks the journal questions and that is a big part of your grade His lectures can be boring but if you actually listen theyre very insightful. For Honors classes, he assigns a lot of reading so prepare for that. Otherwise, hes great.

So far for me this professor is the best for English, he not explain to fast I will do all my work on time , when did you not come to class he will excuse you etc. I will recommend him for English 1A or the class he gonna teach for the next semesters. Im taking him for the first this semester and he is super good teacher.

Assigned reading for each night, easy to fall behind if you are not consistent. Material is a bit tough to understand but grading is extremely straight forward, follow the syllabus and you will have an A. Personal not the best at writing but I did all my assignments, got As on all my papers. The only hw is journal each night.

Professor is awesome! He should teach his co-workers how to teach english classes. He has interesting topics and ideas. He is very knowledgable and shares so much of it to his students. People who want to learn will love this class. People who are not ready for an english course will not pass. Be ready cause this professor will make class fun !

Professor Oventile has been one of the few best persons and professors I have ever met in my life and at pcc. He just has that funny, caring, humble personality. He loves to joke around and is all about science. His lectures were awesome! He does heavy essays and lots of reading just like any other english class. Best professor !!!!!!

I love Dr. Oventile. He is the best professor at PCC. I took him for English 1A and 1C and I will miss him now that I have finished my English classes. He is so caring and I just cant say enough. He is great. Thank you Dr. Oventile for caring for all your students.

This professor gave me very specific comments on the things I wrote. Additionally, he is very caring and helpful for my English work. The prompts for the essay he gave out to the class had very specific detailing of what to write. Best English professor I ever had. TAKE HIM!!!!

Oventile is the kindest professor and a lenient grader. I fully recommend him if you want to take his Honors classes. There are technically 4 graded assignments. The in-class essays and journal is considered one assignment. The remaining three are take-home essays. The only downside is that most books we read were extremely abstract and obscure.

Comment:

Professor Oventile is my favorite professor at PCC. I took him for 3 of my English courses with him and it was the greatest decision of my life. Lots of interesting readings, but will come out of the class with lots of knowledge. He is the most caring professor Ive had, and am where I am today because of him. PLEASE TAKE HIM!!

I took Dr. Oventile for both ENG 1A and 1C. It can hardly happen that you get B or C under the premise that you turn in your assignments on time. Definitely, not only the easiest class but the softest grader!!!!!

Oventile is a gentle Professor. He has very interesting ideas that are sometimes difficult to understand at first. However, he will take significant clad time trying to explain and answering questions. There are two papers for the class which Id say he grades pretty leniently. Also this class easily wins most assigned reading.

E-Z class. I feel bad for him cuz his lecture is super boring and only himself is into it. everyone else is on their phone and no one answers him questions. you write a lot in that class. but E Z A tbh. he is teaching steam English so the books you guys read are math, engineering, tech. related
