Amazing teacher! She has a real passion for history and makes lectures very interesting. 3 exams with 50 objective questions and an essay, all based on your notes so as long as you are there you will pass.

She starts class right on the dot. If you are late she'll call you out and complain about it in front of everyone. Her lectures are dry, dull, boring, contradicting, very confusing. She jumps around instead of starting from beginning to end so you need to know your stuff. Her power points are 30-50 pages long, she never ends class early.

Online class. Waste of everyone's time. 10 quizzes, once a week. 3 exams and a term paper. Her written lecture topics were often unnecessarily long and contradictory. There were a few quizzes where the answers to questions were not in the reading. The only book is a compilation of historical texts. One quiz even required use of a non-required text.

Very difficult class - if I had nothing else to do this summer, maybe it wouldn't have been so demanding, but it was definitely a time-sucker. Very poorly written online lectures - a disgrace for a professor. A fun extra credit assignment. Tricky tests - focus on the obscure for the answers! Would not recommend.

Took her online summer school class, which was loads of work, loads of discussions, long and drawn out lectures. 10 quiz's, 3 exams which were based on 7 chapters. Extra credit assignment and term paper. Way too much for a summer class!!!!!! You must work very hard for your grade.

Took her 8WK online Summer class. Lectures are very long. Average between 15 and 25 pgs. Tests seem impossible. The class would average 30/50. 90%=B.. very sucky. If you do all the work and read all the lecture you will hover around 92ish. The Extra Credit was really fun. Awesome place. Her book is the only thing you need. Discussion comes from it.

Online: TONS of discussion board posts. Posts are easy, quizzes are ok and exams are almost impossible to get anything other than a B(even that was higher than the class average). Lectures are incredibly repetitive and need some major updating i.e. 32 page lecture, 10 quiz questions, only half of the ?'s were mentioned in the notes at all. A 90%=B.

Easy A in this online class! Don't buy the recommended text, though, she never uses it. All info is in the lectures & req text. 10 quizzes, 2 tests, 1 paper. Tons of discussion board posts required but she doesn't even read them. I don't think she even monitored this class at all. Not helpful. Some of her lectures seemed outdated, maybe 10 yrs old.

I took her online class (Hist 4). Great class! I learned a lot. An easy A if you do the work. Interesting discussion board questions. Highly recommended! Buy the required textbook only. Class was awesome!

Easy A. Only buy her textbook for the outlines of each lecture, it will save u alot of notetaking. Go to class and listen to her lectures, reading the primary sources doesnt teach you anything. Class is only 3 tests and 10 quizzes done online. Write a lot for the essays on the exams and youll do fine. no homework. Dont neglect the online lectures.

This was an OK online class, but I found her lecture notes rather vague and at time not accurate! A lot of computer work, especially the discussion board work. Try a different format and perhaps a different professor.

I like Prof. Evanshine personally and even proffesionally in that she knows her topic. The problem is she has a hard time trimming down what she knows to fit an overview class and NO homework to help with comprehension. I know it must sound odd to want homework... but just a little would be really nice! Even if it is optional or extra credit.

I took the online class & liked it a lot. Her lectures are long (20+ page Word documents sometimes) & typos abound, but I thought they were interesting & she has a sense of humor in them. She requires 2 books - one of them (the main textbook) you can get away with usng the old ed to save some $. Her rules are very clear, follow them & you'll do ok.

I took it online. Just do the work and get an A. Though the discussion postings were relentless, the class is pretty straight forward. Quiz every week and 3 exams. Offers extra credit which is nice. I'd take her online again.

Very nice lady, accommodating. Loves history, lectures are long and never dismisses class early or cancels. Participate in the lectures and ask questions then time goes by fast. She likes to hear your opinions and likes discussion. Tests aren't too hard but there’s only three, read the book and memorize our notes thoroughly, like any other Hist cla

Sharon Evanshine is a very nice, sweet lady. Her classes, however, are extremely boring. Every single class is a Power-Point lecture, consisting of 2-3 pages of notes...non stop. The material, however interesting it may be, is presented in a monotonous, unforgiving manner that makes going to class almost unbearable. If you like taking notes...
