It's a tough class with a busy schedule. There is a lot of info but you can get an A if you don't fall behind. She is a breath of fresh air and makes the class really fun. Read and study on time and you'll do well. She's an amazing professor and wants you to succeed. Very understanding. I definitely learned a lot and grew as a student.

It was tough for me at first because I'm new to biology. But Scott changed my biology world. She's really helpful and clear. Even though she expects a lot from you but overall she's a fair grader. I love Scott!

She's a really good teacher. Made Biology really fun and interesting. She's really helpful and makes sure you understand things before she continues. Her A is an 88% so her grading scale is fair as well. Tests have a lot of writing but that's biology for you. I really loved her class. Definitely recommend taking her if you ever take a Biology class

Professor Scott is really friendly, and she is good at teaching. She requires two papers to be written, which isn't bad but just time consuming. Other than that, no textbook use really. Everything can be gotten from her lectures. She grades pretty rough on tests though, so explain well!

Wow! Scott is an amazing professor. She's very clear and makes everything easy to understand. She can read lip movement and has great hearing. I whispered/sometime just moving my lips, and she would understand what I said from across the room! She's awesome! Study her packets and labs!!!!!

A GREAT teacher(I say this even though i currently have a B). I think she appreciates students being involved in lecture so speak up-my bf is always answering questions and she seems to like him. Tests are fair + shes pretty clear about what material you should expect. She teaches a lot of info but does it so well if you show up you should be fine!

Great at making biology concepts easier without dumbing down. Keeps the big picture in mind and ties together all the concepts well so you're not just learning isolated facts. Doesn't stress unimportant small details, but you're still VERY WELL prepared for future classes. Rewrite your notes after class. Long tests! (Multiple choice + essay)

The BEST teacher I have ever had! An enormous amount of information to memorize; but I have a good memory, so it was a piece of cake. Tests are pretty long; mix of multiple choice, short answer and essay questions - but you can pass the tests with a good grade by studying just the lecture notes! Had to write 3 long lab papers; a couple of quizzes.

She never really checks attendance, but it is essential to go to every lecture and lab to prepare for the tests. Scott starts from the bare basics and seamlessly connects everything together as we go into more complicated processes. Very helpful during office hours and always has a sense of humor. I cannot recommend her enough, she's great!

Professor Scott is an very good teacher. she starts off with the fundamentals and builds up from there. she is a picky grader and marks points off if you don't use a term correctly or if you don't completely explain something. you have to be very thorough to get an A in her class. if you go to all lectures and take good notes, you'll get an A.

She is unequivocally the best science teacher the Los Rios district has to offer. Do not be mistaken: You WILL do a lot of work, and it WILL be difficult. What they say about her tests below me is true. But I did get an A in the class, and it was really never in question. So it can be done. Keeping up is the key

Prof. Scott is so clear about what she wants you to know. She has review sessions on weekends right before the exam and answers all questions you have on the study guide. Her tests are extremely hard and long, but hey its Bio, its supposed to be hard. She gets you prepared for the next classes. I'm taking her again for Bio 420. =]

Very approachable and knowledgeable. Must attend lectures and definitely labs if you want to prepare for tests. I was never great at doing lab write ups and she sets a pretty high standard for those as well as the few homework she gives. Her tests and final are definitely long and i always took almost the whole lab period. However if you study for

Her study session are fantastic. I didn't attend the for the first exam and it really showed. But after that my test scores sky rocketed! A LOT TO REMEMBER! :)

Dr. Scott is one of the best teachers I had. I had her for Bio 400 and 420. She explains stuff so clearly and in detail that 99.9% student can understand the material. She is so helpful that she is willing to come in on saturdays to review for test. When i took her, she even showed up on her birthday for a review. This shows her drive to teach
