This professor is a true scholar. she's a very nice lady but get ready to read. If you don't read the book you'll be lost and its not fun. Also, she is a tough grader and you won't pass if you skip. The class felt like an honors class and it's to much.

Dr. Limberis is a real scholar and awesome educator. She knows her stuff and students who take the time to do the work will do well in her course. She is not easy but the best professors rarely are.

I think Limberis is great. She's dedicated her whole life to critically understanding New Testament literature and Greco-Roman societies. Don't take her class if you don't genuinely want to learn about culture and religion. DEFINITELY take a class with her if this is something you're passionate about. I think she's very caring and great as a whole.

Take her. She really cares about her students and is willing to work with you if you show the incitative. Super strict attendnce policy so plan to go to every class. Lectures can be hard to follow. But overall she is amazing!

Professor Limberis makes all her lectures really enjoyable and makes classes fun. I feel like I learn a lot because she makes it easy to get involved with what you are learning. She always includes art, music, and films which is a really nice touch. And if you are ever stuck, she is always willing to help.

Comment:

Professor Limberis is the sweetest, most caring professor I know. I took "What is Christianity?" with her and she taught the course very well. The exams aren't too difficult, as long as you do your part and study. The course load isn't overwhelming either, and she's always willing to help you. I would definitely take her again!

horrible teacher horribly boring class. She literally yelled at the whole class and told us we were insulting her and the University by not doing well on her test. Avoid this teacher for your own good

Good class. She requires dedication you won't get an easy A by not attending lecture. 3 tests, a project and a final but as long as you attend lecture and take notes you should be fine. Her study guides has the same questions as the test. Do not take if you are not a fan studying. Overall good class.

Crystal clear in her expectations, very understanding and a very kind person. You can tell she wants to be there teaching you, which is great. She does require a lot of reading and a lot of effort (essays, participation, ect) but she's great. Take her if you want to learn. If you want an easy A, don't waste her time and yours-- Ain't gonna happen.

She was way too hard for a Gen Ed class. Class was supossed to be about Roman POV of religion, but she was biased towards Christianty. Unfair grader, got rid of two textbooks halfway thru the semester so we couldn't return them. Do not take.

This INTRODUCTORY class is anything but introductory! I'm on spring break and still trying to catch back up with over-prescribed the readings! (Great way to spend the holiday). Also, she's not really a fair grader considering the limited knowledge that students are able to absorb on such a deep and in-depth subject. Not recommended.

Wants you to read 200 pages of text for every class. BORING BORING BORING! Will seat in front of you reading from lined paper the entire class. She thinks her class will change you life and make you want to be a religion major. There is no organization in her class and if you miss a class, she will NOT help catch you up. DO NOT TAKE!

Tries really hard to get you into the material, but usually fails. Boring lectures, boring slides; she doesn't take into account that most of the people in the class aren't religion majors and don't wanna be there. HORRIBLE attendance policy. She lowers your grade half a letter after THREE absences. No ifs ands or buts.

Limberis was crazy. Be sure to do the readings and be prepared to say SOMETHING in class. She has this obsession with people speaking in class. She's a tough grader. Do well on your final and paper and you will get at least a B- in the class.

Class should not be called "Jesus in the Gospels" but more something like the Historical/scholary and Literary depictions of Jesus. Limberis is somewhat biased-no overview of the Jesus "of faith". The class is a mess/rushed at times.Ton of reading. Fair grader I guess. Added extra book halfway thu the semester bc it got a good review on NPR?!

Very nice lady that actually teaches!! I can't say the same about a lot of other Temple professors. This class was super easy for me b/c I had prior knowledge of the material covered in the course There is no written assignments in this class, just weekly notes and exams. Overall she is a great teacher and the class is very interesting(Intro NT)
