I've seen that this guy is good in the classroom, but whatever charm he has there, he certainly doesn't have it online, and I was very rudely awakened to find that the class is extremely disorganized, and that the slightest grammar error will send your perfect paper into the trash immediately. No clarity on literally anything, and endless homework

He is horrible, so disorganized. You will never meet his expectations. Grades stupid hard. I got a 75 on a module (lowest grade I've ever gotten) and the only explanation I got was "Do not use this word I not like it" it was "interestingly" that I used. His English is horrible, yet grades like he's Shakespeare. Didn't teach anything, just the book

A very knowledgable professor. I enjoyed taking this course with him. He wants direct and concrete answers. The class is relatively easy as long as you take good notes of the information he presents in class and you read the 3 books. Very clear critiria in what you need to do well. If you participate, class is way more interesting and engaging.

I have taken most of Solonari's classes and they are all structured the same way. Assignments are easy but he is a tough grader. His lectures are enjoyable and if anyone needs help he is understanding and willing to sit down with students. Exams are easy as long as you study beforehand.

Solonari is pretty disorganized and could use the help of a student assistant to help on that. That said I enjoyed his class the most and you should be prepared to take notes and concentrate on his lectures as well as classroom discussions, he gives out a study guide before exams and you should treat them as if they were sacred.

At first I was not sure about Doctor Solonari, but after taking a semester with him, I think he is one of the better professors of the history department. He can be stern, but at heart he is a people person and is available to give feedback. His accent is a bit distracting at first, but after a week or two, you should have no problem understanding.

His lectures are tough to follow as he just talks in a disorganized with an incomprehensible word document behind him. You are graded by few assignments and he is not an easy grader. On the bright side, all the readings aren't really that necessary, just for the book review and the list of questions. The study guide is very helpful for the tests.

Solonari is a great professor. Very funny & nice man. Really knows his stuff and seems passionate about it. He has a thick accent and can be difficult to understand at first, but just pay attention and you'll soon get used to it. It's not the easiest class I've ever taken, but it's interesting and not hard by any means.

Given the reviews, I was hesitant on taking his class. Even though he has a thick accent, just sit in front of the class to better comprehend what he says. As long as you take notes, complete the study guide, and able to understand what you read like any normal human being then his writing assignments and exams are easy. If I got an A so can you!

He has a thick Russian accent that can be difficult to understand at times, but overall Solonari is a good professor. Expectations for the class are pretty clear, he doesn't grade harshly, and his tests aren't awful. However, it was clear in this class that he wasn't enthused about what he was teaching, and lectures were all over the place.

I am currently taking this professor we are in the middle of the semester and I am wondering why I ever decided to take this professor. I understand that he does have a bit of a strong accent I can not hold that against him it does make it harder to find a way to study. Secondly, say what he wants to hear. Tough grader!

He's a nice guy, but lectures are very longwinded and boring. If you turn in every quiz and discussion (easy A's as long as you actually do them), do the term book report (easy) and show up for class, you don't need to do extremely well on the tests, which are definitely harder. Not too difficult to get an A if you turn everything in.

His accent might be hard to understand but he's a pretty funny guy and his lectures were always so fascinating. The class can pretty hard, but if you follow the study guides, attend class, don't forget to do the quizzes online (easy, 2 attempts), and make friends in class this class is potentially an easy A. Awesome guy with an impressive resume.

Absolute worst professor I have ever had in my student career. Completely unhelpful, doesn't explain things fully, and puts all blame on students. The class itself is easy and there's a lot of required reading, but it's doable. Even in that regard, I will never take another class with him ever again.

Honestly, I paid attention to the first three lectures and that's it. He's very boring and his accent is hard to understand. But even without listening, I passed easily. He basically gives you the exams in study guides. If you can read and write, the book reviews are simple. Overall, easy class if you study on your own, but not a great professor.
