Brantly is amazing!!!! She REALLY knows her stuff. It was incredibly fun to learn about such a niche topic. I took this on a whim and am really glad that I did. She is passionate, accessible, and hilarious. The readings are pretty engaging too. The books are interesting and fun. Finals are easy if you study.

Brantly is a very good professor she is very laid back and covers everything in lectures that is needed for the exams. The exams are not extremely difficult but they are all of your final grade and because of the grading scale it is easy to get a good grade but hard to get an A.

Alright. Professor Brantly is a remarkably friendly and laid back person, but if you are taking Lit Trans 274, be warned of her harsh grading. The class is comprised on only 3 exams and it is near impossible to get an A due to her critical and nit-picking grading. Even if you recount all every shining detail from lecture, you will only get a B.

One of the best professors ever. Talented, qualified, very kind and friendly. Her style is laid back, and if you talk to her she is flexible with assignments and due dates. She's a good lecturer and occasionally very funny. She picks great readings, always interesting, and if you show up for lectures, don't worry about exams, she covers everything.

She is really passionate about Scandinavian Lit, and she's funny too! I did not do much reading for this class but still managed to get an AB. Make sure to go to the review sessions. They were helpful! For studying, you should go through all the short questions and answers. They will appear exactly the same on the exams most of the time.

Super relaxed class especially if you aren't taking the Comp B part. Don't have to read the books if you go to class. She will give you all the questions that could appear on exams before hand, Very passionate teacher loves what she does.

Susan is super helpful and its a good class that I enjoy attending the lectures for. Definitely possible to get an A just by attending lectures, but the class is curved so much that I can't really imagine how someone would fail. Books/readings are good and she does all the thinking for you in lecture! Highly recommend.

Very very nice lady. Used this class as a requirement for school, and found it to be semi-interesting. Curve is good and the tests are pretty easy. Long essay question is posted before hand and that is 40% of each test.

This class is super easy and the professor is great! Exams are not hard as long as you read what you are assigned and take good notes. Most possible exam questions are online and you are given the essay question ahead of time. 3 midterms, no final, no hmwk except for reading. CommB part of class has two 3-5 pg essays and one 8-12 pg

Excellent professor! Only took the class to fulfill my Comm B requirement, it ended up being my favorite class of the semester. She is enthusiastic about the material and is a great lecturer. Clearly explains all aspects of the stories in class and holds a review session before every exam. Regurgitation of lecture = AB, new ideas on essays = A.

Awesome class with an amazing lecturer. One of the most professional, clear, and knowledgeable lecturers that I have ever had - would recommend this class to everyone. Even the TA was great - really, everything was pretty amazing about this class. Only thing - lots of writing because its a Comm-b course, but thats to be expected.

Fantastic course. Brantly's lectures are among the best i've seen. A highly structured course that was easy to follow and engaging. Not to mention, Brantly is clearly passionate about the works she discusses. The Comm-B component was well-balanced with the normal lecture material. Talk to her outside of class, too. Overall, an awesome class.

Go to lectures and take really good notes. Everything from test comes from notes. Do not stress over reading all the material for the test, just make sure to take down her notes because that is what she wants to see on the exam. Hard to get an A because it is based on only 3 tests and you need to average a 94 but AB is doable.

class completely blows, not at all an easy A. Out of a class of 230, they only have out 12 A's on the first exam. Only take it if you're actually interested in the material.

Interesting class. Professor Brantly explains everything really clearly. Just go to lectures and get ready to write a ton of notes, but it is worth it as the notes pretty much cover everything on the exam!! Lots of reading, but only 3 tests determine your whole class grade
