This is an amazing professor. Yes, all test are essays but there are only 3 total for the semester. He literally gives you test before you take it but you still have to write a well written and thought out essay to get an A. Just take good notes and read the book and you'll be fine. Don't use your phone in class he will kick you out!

Dr. Knight is a great professor that I'm sure anyone would enjoy. He is very blunt and his classes are completely lecture, but you will do fine if you keep notes & study the material he goes over. Tests were generally essays that I was able to write completely off the notes I took from his lecture. (No joke- he talks for the entire class period.)

Knight is an amazing teacher. He's engaging and his lectures are crystal clear, well organized and understandable. He can instill an interest in history within anyone who is willing to listen in the class. He is a helpful instructor who will go out of his way to explain something you are not following. I've taken three classes with him :)!

If you are not willing to write this class is not for you. All of his exams are essays. The only problem I had with that is the fact that those are the only grades that you receive in class. He has a passion for history and you can see it clearly when he explains his lessons to you. He is always respectful and fun. I love his class!!!!!

Awesome teacher and has a passion for history. All his tests are essay so if you can't write, don't take his class. All lectures, but he loves a good debate and he always answered my questions. A's are possible but your work for them.

Dr. Knight is a straight forward professor, he doesn't care if you attend class. However if you don't know the material for the exams its on you. Don't expect any softy kindness out of him, hes blunt and funny. Hes a great professor though, just do the work... P.S. dont text in his class.

Dr. Knight is very knowledgeable in his field. His teaching style helps the student to understand the course material and apply it to current events. He does lecture for most of the class but he also expects his students to input and ask questions. You can take and pass this class without ever opening the book.

HORRIBLE. This might have well been a writing course because thats all you do. He does 5 essays at least 3-5 pages long. If you say something that you got out of the book that isn't phrased the way her phrases it then he counts off. As soon as he walks into class he lectures the entire time, no writing on the board or asking questions. BORING

Best prof ever. His classes inspired me to major in History at VCU. Absolutely brilliant, analyzes history beyond what you would learn from a textbook. I literally cannot sing his praises enough, I took every class I could with him and wish I could have taken more. Not an easy A class- but if you want to have your mind blown, TAKE HIS CLASSES.

He is extreemely knowledgeable, and a very good lecturer because of that. Taking good notes is a must; the class is not difficult if you pay attention. He has a somewhat sarcastic, dry sense of humor, and does not tolerate any rudeness. One of my favorite professors thus far!

He only gives three tests, but they are based on his lectures. Notes are essential! He is an interesting and knowledgeable orator, but he is extremely rude! He almost enjoys humiliating students if they need to get up to use the restroom. Not cool! I took him twice only because he IS a good history teacher not because I necessarily liked him.

One of the best teachers at Reynolds. Fascinating lectures if you make the effort to listen, do your readings, and learn. Tests are 100% essay, so you better know how to organize your thoughts and express them well. If you are a slacker, go for someone else who is easy. I would rather have Knight and work and actually learn something!

EXCELLENT teacher with obvious passion for history!!!! Tough class but if you attend lectures, take notes, read book, and study hard you can get an A like me. Not easy but isn't impossible. BEWARE procrastinators. Failing course isn't teachers fault because his lectures prepare you well with what you need to know to pass the three all essay exams.

Excellent professor. I would definitely take one of his classes again. All tests are essays, but are easy especially if you pay attention/take notes in class. Seems to be passionate about history, knows it well, and will sometimes add information into his lectures that the book doesn't tell you which makes it easier to write a good essay.
