Very easy going and laid back. He knows a lot about a lot of stuff. Don't take his classes if you're looking for structure or heavy workload. If you ever want to know something (about anything) he encourages you to speak up and ask, we had very good class discussion with him!

Probably the worst prof I have ever had, anything that I learned through this class was self taught. He is a really nice man but his teaching style is terrible, didn't learn anything about Criminology only about rugby and polar bears. Just terrible, would never take a class from him again!

Barnwell is an awsome proff. He is willing to help you with any issue and you weel totally comfotable to speekout in class. He promotes class dicussion and provides a relaxed enviroment for class. He always has some kinds of story to tell relating to his lesson. Hetends to get a little side tracked in class,which can be frustrating at times.

Barnwell is a true scholar. Very intelligent, lots of life experience. He always makes sure and well that people understand his class, as well as his points, totally approachable, easily my favorite professor ever. I would strongly recommend anyone majoring in crim to be sure to take classes with him.

Class is somewhat easy, however the papers are marked pretty tough, so put lots of effort into it. Some might think hes alittle crazy, but thats what I thought was great, made lectures alittle bit interesting. Gets a little off topic once in awhile, very open class lectures, movies kinda odd sometimes.

Rather easy marker and class. Very nice person in general, very liberal. I liked his teaching, very easy to approach and talk to in class, some people may thinkg he is not knowledgeable, but he knows his stuff if you actually talk about detail with him. Great teacher.
