Good prof if you keep up with lectures and tutorial material. His exams and homework are based on tutorial and lecture notes so if you understand them well you will be set. The only issue is that he does not follow the textbook at all so there are no alternate ways of learning his course.

This is my last year in engineering and i have never come across a professor like Yousef shahyan. He is always there to help you, trying his utter best to explain you every single thing. On top of that he is very very humble to each and every student and the best thing about him is that he never says no to any question of a student. Simply the best

Comment:

Best professor I had in university. He is there to help students and explains the concept, logic and reasoning as to what is the purpose of a certain topic. He is tough marker so make sure to explain everything you write on your paper (state the obvious things as well) I am looking forward to take another class with him.

Nice guy, friendly. He's good for telecom, not for signals & systems. He can't teach math. He just problem solves during lectures. Classes are boring and explanations are poor. He provides partial solutions to text book problems. The burden is placed on the student to solve as many problems & learn on their own. Take this course with another prof.

An amazing teacher. Summary: - Extremely helpful - Very very organised teacher. His lecture and notes are really helpful. - Good grade is not a piece of cake, but if you follow his rules, for sure you'll get good grade - Inspires students rather than putting unnecessary pressure

Easily amongst the best professors in Engineering Faculty. Very enthusiastic and really wants the students to learn. He was so good that I took him multiple times. ;)

The Upcoming GRAD students would really be unlucky since the professor stopped teaching GRADs this year. I took 6141 with the professor in Winter 2013. He is a bit hard in exams because he teaches so well. So his level of expectations is high.

everything was awesome ..i missed A+ for 3 marks.. which he deducted from my final exam..because i wrote one concept which was not required .. "i didn't get A+ just because i explained something extra"..otherwise..best teacher i ever seen.
