Comment:

A nice teacher, though he doesn't really associate too much with his students. Classes are straight lecture no Q&A. If you a get a good TA this class is much better. Exams are Essay with a fill-in-the blank section that is VERY hard, but doesn't count for much. The essays are 80%. I liked this class b/c I was interested in it. Not an easy A.

Comment:

Reeves is an amazing professor that is very knowledgeable and passionate about History. With that being said, this is an extremely HARD class. There is no way you can pass if you do not read the book. The tests are primaraly essays and there are hard fill in the blank. Also, if Sam Ball is your TA, I'm SO sorry. He is very incompetent and grad

I love him! he is the best professor i have ever had. His TA's are a different story but i loved him. He is a cute old man who lectures all class but makes them more into story time.. so they arent so bad. Take good notes! Read! His exams arent bad as long as your read and take notes! Choose him, you will love him!

I took this 100 level class as a sophomore, and before it, considered myself a pretty good student. But after this class, I felt the opposite. The 3 tests you're given are 10 essays over things you may or may not even have read about, and when asked how to better study for the exam, his only reply was, "Get a good night's rest." Yuck.

Reeves was great, his lectures are very thorough and he is really helpful. He isnt very personable with his students but he tries. Hes an adoreable little old man.

reeves is such a cute old man. he only teaches in the fall and lives in new mexico during the rest of the year. his tests were all IDs and took a long time to study for, but if you study the right things, it's easy to pass. his lectures were easy to take notes from and if you're lucky... he'll tell you about his girlfriend.

i loved this class, i loved the material and prof reeves really knows his stuff. the only problem is that his tests are really hard and there is way too much material covered on them. there are also no other grades in this class which makes it hard to do well.

Excellent professor. Makes lectures interesting and somewhat lively. He is old school, but really not bad at all. Exams can be tricky, though. Pay attention. The TA is excellent, too.
