Dont listen to the bad reviews on here, professor Joseph may be a tad eccentric and like to make jokes, but he is one of the sweetest and kindest professors there is. Gives notes packets that provide 90% of what you need to know for tests, as long as you pay attention in class you learn the other 10%. Highly recommended!!!

Syllabus is 7 PAGES- RED FLAG! Worst mistake I've made in picking a teacher. Uses wildly disrespectful language in unnecessary contexts in reference to oppressed groups. Glosses over American Slavery- spent more time talking about Roman Slavery-which is not the same. Repeats himself & stops class until someone laughs @ his jokes. Tests are terrible

If you get the chance, PLEASE TAKE A CLASS WITH PROFESSOR JOSEPH!!!! He is literally the sweetest man and really genuinely cares about his students. Makes the corniest jokes but is absolutely wonderful. Also a very lenient and accepting grader. By far my favorite professor I've ever had

Professor Joseph is one of my favorite professors at HVCC. He cares about his students and enjoys teaching. His lectures are easy to follow along with and he gives handouts with extra notes. As long as you show up to class and briefly go over notes before tests, you'll get an A. His class is based off 4 tests (he drops one) and a research paper.

You don't need the textbook even though he says you do. I personally just didn't like his style of teaching, he is nice but that's not all that matters. For an online class, the workload was a lot, I had to give a significant amount of time to stay on track. I would say pick someone else.

Professor Joseph is a great guy, hes funny and very kind. The ONLY downfall of his class was it was graded on tests with only 1 extra credit assignment the whole semester. He is a really good guy and the final is super easy. Go to class, it will help you because the notes he gives arent what I consider to be very good. 10/10 would take again

He stressed at the start of the semester This is a stress free class. And boy was he right! He makes it easy for you to pass by giving very clear lectures and handouts, and simply asking that you do your part by showing up to lecture and absorbing the information.

Professor Joseph is great! He's a really nice person and tries to make the exams easy. Make sure you read the review sheets really good and take notes in class. His exams are super easy if you study! And pay good attention in class too. Take this class if you have other hard courses. Gives everyone an A on the paper.

Professor Joseph is a great! His Vietnam War class in not hard as long as you show up to class, take notes, and study. He provides outlines which are extremely helpful. His tests are all multiple choice and he usually provides a review sheet. His research paper is not hard just long. But overall great professor and always available.

Not sure what more you can ask of an online professor... he gives clear expectations and all the tools to succeed. Along the way, he is engaging, inspiring, a bit challenging, and a little corny. He answers emails and posts quickly and gives great feedback. Great professor if you have to take a course online.

Absolutely loved him! Super cool guy with a funny sense of humor. I had him for American History online and it was great. Always responded to blog posts and always replied quick to emails. A truly great professor! Maybe one day I'll have him in person in a class.

Don't bother buying the textbook! You can easily get an A with all the outlines he provides you. Professor Joseph is an excellent teacher. He genuinely wants to make sure everyone understands the material. He responds very fast to emails. The only grades are 4 tests (lowest grade gets dropped) and the final. Easy class.

He is always making jokes. He speaks a bit slower which is great for taking detailed notes. He also gives out lots of handouts to help with tests and he is very open to helping students. One of my favorite professors for sure; the only thing he asks for in return is respect and students willing to learn. Act respectfully and he is very easy going.

Awesome professor, if you ever need to take a history class make sure you pick him. He really cares about his students and will do anything possible to see you succeed in his class. He jokes a bit, and granted they are a little corny, but it's still another plus. Really good prof, if I was a history major I would take all his classes!

Professor Joseph is absolutely the best choice for History. He is so knowledgeable and caring. He is so caring about students and their lives. He understands people come from all walks of life and that they have stuff going on sometimes. His online class was perfect and focused on exactly what one needs to know, but allows for more enrichment.

Comment:

Solid choice for history. You can't go wrong with him. If you hate history like me but need a history course, take him. He keeps it interesting and you can see his efforts in making the material interesting. Answers emails promptly and isn't one of those professors who seems bothered to answer an email. The work is light but don't fall behind
