Comment:

He's a really good guy, funny and really cares about his students. Down side, his class means very little in the long run and he's very serious about it. If you want an easy A, don't take this class. Tests are all short answer, and there's at least 3 books to read. Good man, boring class that was unnecessarily difficult.

Comment:

Pretty good professor, not amazing but not bad by any means. I wouldn't take his class again but it was not hard to get an A. 3 books you have to read (can't just skim or sparknotes). Calls on you in class unexpectedly which can be annoying. Cares about his students and is passionate about what he teaches. Tests kind of hard, take good notes!

Cultural Geography class dumb like It was stupid and the fact that he teaches what he wants us to believe was annoying. too much reading and sadly the books were so boring too. Doesn't like if you come in late or leave during class. Hates electronic devices. horrible sense of humor and overall did not enjoy his class.

I admittedly struggled in his class, but I blame this mostly for my lack of motivation. Lots of reading req'd for this class. Adheres to college's attendance policy & doesn't really appreciate lateness. Biggest complaint is that his feedback on some assignments isn't too great. Extra points rewarded for participation.

Amazing Professor! Took him over the summer for SOC 101 and it was such an easy A. If you paid attention in class and participated you were bound to get an A. He bumps you up half a letter grade just for answering his questions during lectures. He makes SOC interesting and is such a cute lil old man! 10/10 recommend.

Great professor! Took both of his classes thats how great he is. Had him a year ago and after leaving Suffolk, I miss professors like him. Cares about students and their future. Grades fairly and gives great feedback. For a college course it really is not a lot of work and the topics are interesting. Wish I could take his classes again.

Professor Cofone is an amazing professor. He is funny and insightful. His lectures are engaging. I took him for both Sociology and Geography. It's not a hard class but if you want a good grade definitely take notes, read the material and go to class. He is really an amazing person and professor.

Had him for culture and geography honors. Felt his lectures only touched upon what he was trying to teach and never went into depth. Gives three books to read. Tests were fair. Gives four extra points if you participate and an extra credit essay to drop lowest test grade.

Incredibly interesting, inspired, and inspiring lectures. One can easily remain attentive in class. You develop geographic perspectives on characteristics that make regions unique, all while learning interesting and relevant material. You'll read novels, not a textbook. You'll learn from Cofone's knowledge and experience, while enjoying books too.

If you use anything electronic you will pay for it. 3 students (myself included) that used ipads/laptops, received notes on our test about it and were graded unfairly. He speaks about honors students as if they're better than those who are not honors. Sad to hear. Very unclear about grading. Test are difficult and the amount of reading is crazy.

Tough grader but boy did I learn a lot. A professor who wants you to succeed and to educate you. His lectures are amazing and its almost impossible to drift off. If you want to learn and be satisfied with a class take this professor, so worth it.

Professor Cofone is an overall great person and teacher. He has traveled all his life so he knows what he's talking about. Be ready to read because he assigns novels to read for the class. His tests are very straight forward from the notes so make sure you go to class.

Professor Cofone is a really great professor. I was not overly interested in Geography but liked the idea of the 102 class and took it. It wasn't what I expected but he made it very enjoyable and worth it. I would absolutely recommend him for any class. He's knowedgeable and funny and selects books that are regular books and not textbooks.

One of those once in a lifetime professors; truly loves what he does and he's so animated in class that it makes you want to pay attention to his lectures. He's been all over the world so he truly knows what he's talking about and his stories will make you laugh so hard! You have novels instead of textbooks but you'll love them. PARTICIPATE!

He is a great professor, definitely one of the best. I actually enjoyed learning and listening to what he had to say. I wish I could take another class with him. I highly recommend him. Talk in class, he loves that and read your books, and enjoy!

One of the most charismatic teachers I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. Expect to read a lot, but expect to love the books. Tests are directly from his lectures, and from the books you read. Take. Good. Notes! Take his class!
