Took this class for my minor and when it came to the transition to remote learning she was one of my most understanding professors. She was there to work through any difficulty which is something I greatly respected! Would take her class again in a heartbeat.

I like the modules she does for each lecture. There is a lot of reading and your are expected to do them all if not the majority of them. Participation in tutorials is key to your marks (they are pretty interesting so it wasn't hard). But she is a fair marker and cares about her students.

The subject of this class was 'history of media' which sounded interesting, but with professor Bronfman it couldn't have been more boring. There were weekly assignments and homework. The textbooks were irrelevant and the assigned readings were long and excessively boring. She was quite a hard grader. Do not recommend taking any classes with her.

Alejandra broke up the larger class so there was room for greater discussion within smaller groups. I thought it was a really great learning experience and completely different from other classes I have taken. Participation is mandatory, and she was really great at facilitating and moderating each meeting. Not an easy class but worth it!

The class couldve been decent but she ruined it. She tested you on things she talked about for a second and marked very hard, considering the fact that she didnt teach anything. She was unorganized and seemed knowledgeable but did not put forward any significant & interesting knowledge to engage her students. Not taking her courses again

I found this class to be a let-down. It was called a Lecture, yet clearly is taught as a Seminar. I don't appreciate being told to come once a week for 1h20mins and have our class be dedicated towards discussion with other undergraduates. If I wanted that I would just go to Reddit or start conversations at the library. Barely learning anything

Comment:
This was a course about media and how it's changed over time, which sounded super cool, but the class was a train wreck. Alejandra was inconsistent, unorganized, and never gave clear answers. 80% of the readings were horrendously boring. The TA was awful and the discussion groups were useless. Take the class, but definitely don't take it with her.

She's really passionate about what she teaches! And even though her lectures aren't very structured I like them because they are never the same and she adds in interesting aspects! she's super friendly as well!:)

Bronfman is an ok prof. She doesn't have any lecture guidelines (what is important in what she says and what is not) and her powerpoints are not that useful. She is kind though and doesn't seem strict about attendance

Short papers but boring lectures which were in no way related to the textbooks. Her lectures were poorly designed with little continuity and had even less connection to the papers. "With Broadax and Firebrand" is the worst textbook I have ever had to read and it's used every year for this course.

She is a great professor, definitely the best one i've had. She is passionate about the subject, and is clear and concise in what she wants to say, and if something is important to know, she repeats it 20 times just in case. Papers are short, lectures are interesting. She is great!

At first I didn't get her teaching style but over the weeks it began working for me. She uses outside books for reading so you need to attend lecture for notes otherwise you have no source for them. Papers were short and well defined. She likes you to use her prompting to do other things so you don't always have to follow her questions.
