Love Professora Caplan! I had her for conversational spanish 212 and she was my favorite teacher by far this semester. She is very helpful and wants her students to learn. It's okay to make mistakes, as long as you're trying thats what matters. She a blast and often brings us munchkins in the mornings. It's an easy class, would recommend!

She was very helpful and let us discuss current events as well as our homework. She allows 2 drafts of all your compositions so you can improve and get a better grade, and the mid-term and final tests were easy. The papers she wants are only a page to a page and a half so they aren't too long, and she spends a lot of time giving feedback on them :)

At first I was turned off to her, but I warmed up to her. She lets you resubmit all of your papers for a better grade. Exams are not difficult. The only work required is to read a short story per week (or even every two weeks) and answer questions about it. Fun teacher who is ready to have fun and laugh. Very approachable and willing to work with u

While she is clearly not interested in teaching civ, she clearly knows a ton about literature (specifically Spanish lit). Catholic literature is not her strong suite, but will admit when the assigned seminar readings are beyond her expertise (she is Jewish herself). Very nice woman- I would recommend taking a class with her.

Absolutely loved her!! Very helpful/available and is extremely dedicated to her students. Very laid back and willing to negotiate. Also great at explaining tough concepts. Not a hard grader. Definitely worth taking.

I've taken a few with her and didn't like her at first, but she grew on me. She's extremely nice and her classes are pretty simple. This Civ class was straightforward-some reading and one solo project. I hate doing projects, but this wasn't bad at all. Just a powerpoint about an artist you can choose. Take her if you can as it's not too demanding.

really great teacher! caplan definitely genuinely cares about her students and will go out of her way to help you. she expects a lot out of your compositions and will grade them a little difficultly but her tests are really easy. i learned a lot in this class and was never bored. definitely recoommend taking her!

I LOVED HER. She genuinely cared about each of her students and got to know things about them that most professors wouldn't. She gives extensions for legitimate excuses and is always enthusiastic. Loves to talk about women's rights.

I am one to say that I do not love her. She is so disorganized that it's annoying. She gives you soo many looong lectures to read. And when you do not answer the question the way that she wants you to, she makes you feel so stupid. I have loved every Spanish class at PC and love Spanish in general, and this one was the first I dreaded going to! No vale la pena!

Dr. Caplan is an awesome teacher! I have had her for 2 semesters and she is so nice and will help you with anything. There is a lot of reading but she explains everything to you. She is extremely fair and the tests are only what we go over in class. Best Spanish teacher ever!

She is such an awesome teacher! Very enthusiastic about Spanish and she truly cares for her students. She does take a very long time to return stuff back to you. I've had her twice and I'm having her again next year for Hispanic Civilization. Her classes are not boring but she does give a lot of work. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!

The worst professor in the Spanish deparment. I did alright in her class, but she is a horrible woman to deal with, so rude to the students, and a general b*tch. I was a Spanish major, I would NEVER take her again. UGH.

She challenges you, but that's definitely a good thing. Lectures and discussions are about 95% in spanish and are very helpful. You're pretty much guaranteed to know your grammar by the end of the class, but there wasn't much speaking practice. Don't miss any classes, do the quick homework for each class, and you'll know what's going on.
