Absolutely the worst prof I've had in my educational career. Not clear, condescending, likes to pick, terrible at teaching the subject matter, does not help! I received A's in calc 2, 3 and diff eq ( math 336) as well as tutor students in math, and receive a D in calc 1? Come on! It's definitely him, not me.

He doesn't come right out and say the answers bc he wants you to figure it out. This frustrated some people, but it is a research-based model of an effective way for US to teach math once we graduate. He's flexible and easy going, the class can sway him to be more flexible when/if needed

He is an amazing teacher!! I understand him perfectly, but a lot of the class has trouble because he is really teaching new content. This is the first time I've enjoyed math in over a decade, and I know most of the class agrees! Homework is optional, but encouraged to help you get a better grade. A lot of small quizzes so I don't recommend skipping

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT take this professor if you don't have to. His explanations are incomprehensible and his version of help is having you form a "study group" with other students. If you actually want to do well in Calculus, take another teacher. You basically have to teach yourself.

Extremely helpful. He really cares if his students understand the material. It may seem as though he is picking on the students that don't understand, and to a certain extent, he is. He really wants the people that don't understand to get the material down.

Having the misfortune of getting a D in this class, and taking it over with another teacher I realized how good of a teacher Zollman was. I did poorly, not the teacher. I worked harder the second time and realized he was a great teacher. He truly wants his students to succeed and will try to teach by thinking outside of the box. would take again

Dr. Zollman is one of the worst teachers i have ever had. He will spend the entire class period going over 1 example and it doesn't even help with the homework. He is completely useless. If you don't go to class everyday and you ask him for help he will tell you that you should go to the toutering center. You have to work out a problem if your late

Great! He can really relate to what a college student is going through. Only thing -If you ask him a question he will answer it back with a question. Hated that at first but, in the long run you realize how much you learn and how much confidence you gain in math by finding things out yourself! I was afraid of math. Now I am not!

I suppose he has good intentions but he has absolutely no idea how to communicate.Most of the class had no clue what was going on in that class for the entire semester, or what was due, how to do it, and when it was due.One person commented that he didn't treat you like a 5 year old-I disagree.He made you feel stupid if you didn't know something.

Here's the thing with Dr. Zollman, he is a good teacher, but no one quite understands that we have to learn how to teach this stuff to kids, so it's not like how we learned it, and yes it is harder. At least he doesn't treat his students like they are 5 years old like some of the other Math 201 teachers.
