attendance is mandatory because of pop quizzes; assigns 50+ pages per class, completely useless in helping students.

very difficult class for 100 level. assigns 50 pages to read a night and tests are impossible. i gave this class so much effort and i hope to pass with a C. she goes through the slide so fast you cant take notes, and she just rushes the lecture to put a movie on. thought this class would be interesting. DEF DONT RECOMMEND IT. thank god for the TAs.

I was looking forward to taking this class but because of her I hate it. The concepts are interesting but her wording is very convoluted. Her exams are very hard she puts none of the above and all of the above for every single question. She assigns an impossible amount of reading. the only thing that helped me from failing was recitation.

I have her for intro to Latino studies-this class sucks! I was interested in contemporary Latino issues before taking this class but literally all we do is read lengthy, sometimes uninteresting, articles we have to print out for every class, and then spend the entire class answering questions from the articles out loud. -_-.

She is extremely passionate and energetic about what she teaches. I'm an anth major and found my career choice in anthropology just from her class. Attendance is a MUST as her tests cover all lecture material and every one of the readings. The only thing I disliked is that her tests could be difficult unless you understand EVERY lecture and reading

She goes through her slides way to fast to copy anything down, her tests are unclear and confusing, and if you get a bad grade on one assignment its very hard to come back from

Seminar 497 is Super challenging, but Prof Ramos will guide you through and will tell you what you need to do in order to succeed. If you love Latino Studies, she is one of the best professors in the department. Needless to say I got an A in her class.

She is a great professor. Yes, she can be a **** and is nit picky. But she actually teaches, you learn a lot, and she's great to talk to outside class. For people who say she's horrible, just remember why you are in college. People forget they are here to READ, WRITE BETTER, AND LEARN. She facilitates that and you need to stop being LAZY.

This teacher was really very challenging. If you can stand reading upwards of 400 pages in a semester then by all means take this class, for everyone else be warned, lots of reading Also shes mad nit-picky, if you dont have expos 101-level writing she will destroy your paper. otherwise, mandatory attendance, take home midterm and final/short test

In her 3 classes readings were engaging & discussions intellectually challenging. She will improve writing skills, prepare u for life, and won't lower expectations for anyone. Read, understand text thoroughly, & participate. She once dismissed those who participated & gave a pop quiz for the rest. Taken seriously, her classes are indispensable. (A)

She is very knowledgable but she has students present every class period, which is very unhelpful. The readings are really interesting. Some of the students in the class make generalizations about 'white people' and when anyone makes a generalization about minorities they are attacked. The class can be biased and can use different perspectives.

I really enjoyed this class, make sure you take a lot of notes because it will help you when you write your papers. Basically for the midterm, all you have to do is answer the questions don't b.s.
