Comment:

Dr. Mitrea is an excellent teacher. He is professional and gets the job done, but still makes time to be personal and caring with his students. His enthusiasm for calculus is contagious and he talks loudly and clearly. Go to his review sessions before the tests if you can, since they tend to be relevant. One of the best math teachers Ive had.

Marius Mitrea is the best professor I have met ever! He really wants students to learn something, therefore, the importance is not the difficulty of the course, is the thing you learn and the way you think. Especially, his passion with his whole heart to teach makes his course interesting and easy to understand. U won't regret to take his course!!!

Dr. Mitrea is the best math professor I've ever had. He was very approachable, was easy to understand, gave extra credit, and was willing to work with students. The homework was hard, but he made the concepts pretty simple in his notes, and that was what mattered for the tests.

Comment:

I had Dr. Mitrea in the fall semester of 2018 for Calc III - first impressions of him may seem intimidating, but he is a good teacher who makes you accountable on a daily and weekly basis for your work. He is very business like and a fast talker but he is also very reasonable and makes the examples he teaches similar to the quizzes and tests.

Mitrea was by far one of my favorite professors ever, he really works to help you learn the material and his love for math is abundantly clear, making it enjoyable along the way. Although he posts the annotated notes online, going to class really helps and is worth it!

MITREA IS THE MAN!!! Had him for calc 3 and he is hands down the best teacher Ive ever had. He is so enthusiastic, to the point where it becomes contagious. Everyone is right in saying that he truly wants you to learn and succeed. Definitely a hard class and tough grader but in a way that motivates you to put in more effort. Hes the best!!!!

Seriously this guy is good. He is very enthusiastic when he teaches and you can tell he really wants you to learn. I went to his study sessions and he always stayed longer than scheduled. I got the best grade I've ever gotten in math but not because it was easy, but because I actually fully understood the material. Respect, one of my best teachers.

Dr. Mitrea was a fantastic professor and taught the material well. The tests were fair as long as you showed up to lecture, and the material was explained well there. I took Calculus previously and got a C, I retook it with Dr. Mitrea and got an A. He was a much better teacher, graded fairer, and made the lectures entertaining and memorable!

He's a great professor who actually cares about students paying attention during lecture. It's nice to have notes that you print and just fill out as he goes through the notes and practice problems over the projecter. And he even puts them on blackboard afterward. He explains what will be on the exams and the TAs help you prepare well too.

Everything about him is so euro and you gotta love it. His writing is sloppy and hard to interpret. Yet, he shows a genuine interest in mathematics and takes lecture halls seriously dont get caught on your phone or he will call you out infront of 300 people. He has proven to care about his students success while making math somewhat bareable.

Professor Mitrea is an amazing guy and really cares about his students. He made an effort to get to know everyone in his class, and he keeps his lectures entertaining. The quizzes and tests are exactly like problems he does in lecture, so going to class is crucial because he doesn't post on tegrity. Really easy to pass this class with a little work

Comment:

Great guy, really seems to enjoy teaching and keeps the class interesting. He can be hard to understand sometimes because of his accent, but overall it really was a great class. Tests were difficult, but everything he tested on was discussed in class... But he will make you study for sure. I definitely recommend this professor.

You need to go to his class. He writes his tests using almost all in class examples, with slight number changing. Or at least he did in my class. It is a calc class, so you need to study, but Dr. Mitrea isn't unreasonably difficult.

Dr. Mitrea is incredibly intelligent and has very high expectations for his class. Consequently, his exams are tough. His first test is unbearably difficult, but they get progressively easier. He LOVES proofs and there will be at least one on every exam; including the final. You will NOT survive this class unless you attend lecture.
