I LOVE ANDREW!!!!! Such a good guy and so so smart. He knows so much about history and is an expert on the books you read, but does a fairly good job of not saying that his interpretations and ideas are the only correct ones. Once he gets talking he goes on a tangent, but it can sometimes be fun to listen. WONDERFUL for Core 2.

Prof. Aisenberg is probably my favorite teacher I've ever had. He genuinely cares about giving students the opportunity to learn and succeed. When I had a course that ended up less relevant to my thesis than expected but needed the credits, he offered to do an ind. study w/ me related to my thesis. His lectures in Core and hum were always engaging.

Very accommodating, approachable, and understanding of students. Forgiving with lateness. Also exceptionally passionate about Foucault, Genet, and Fanon.

Took his Core 1 class. The guy rambles like crazy, but he knows his stuff and has really interesting things to say. Genuinely nice person. In love with Genet. Very approachable - willing to alter his teaching style to meet needs of students (I asked him to let us participate more and he was very chill/accommodating.) Always late to class.

Comment:
Discussions in this class could be long and tiresome, mostly because of the material, but he and PDM made this class a pleasure. He's a sweetheart and tries to actively get to know his students, gives good and mostly positive feedback on write ups. Pro tip: He loves Genet so get creative and work that into your discussions.

Great prof. I didn't speak up in class much, but he still remembers me and says hi after the sem ended. Sweet, helpful. Pretty big into philosophy, so if you're not a theory person, it can be hard to understand, but I would def. recommend. Class was interesting, if only because he loves the topics so much and he rambles all the time. A+ prof.

Professor Aisenberg was absolutely incredible! I had him as a freshman and he gave me such an unbelievably fantastic experience as to what college should be like. He reminds me a lot of Woody Allen. Is one of the most intelligent, witty, funny, helpful, and accommodating professors I have had so far at Scripps!! :)

Aisenberg is a ridiculous human being, and I love it. Class was initially really intimidating, but got a lot better as the sem went on. For some reason he would always bring up Seinfeld... very smart, sometimes a bit rambling, and an intellectual hipster, but overall pretty funny and insightful. You could do a lot worse.

Aisenberg is the best professor I've had at the 5Cs. His Rousseau, Tocqueville, Foucoult class was fascinating, and he brought these difficult books to a level everyone could understand. He kept the class engaged and discussions were always interesting, don't miss out on Aisenberg.

Aisenberg taught Core 2 with Perez, and it was easily the best class I took that semester. I'm not sure how much I learned, but I think that can be true of all the Core 2 classes. Very fun!

He's very energetic and eager to teach. He talked too much in our discussion, but then we spoke to him about it, and he worked on it. So, he's not perfect, but he's receptive to students and their input. Even if he disagrees with your view (in a paper, for example) he'll grade it fairly. He always shows up 10 minutes late to CORE. I.

Aisey is awesome, abstract and a true "intellectual". He's a quiet rebel and his classes are really interesting. That and he looks like Woody Allen with dark hair.

I'm not a core person but he made it fun and interesting. He's cute and funny and brings his great dogs to class, but on a less superficial note he's a really great prof and demystifies ancient philosophers very well.
