Comment:
Dr. Morehead is not a bad person and he's incredibly smart but he can't teach that knowledge to save his life. His lectures are just him drawing mechanisms with no real explanations of the rules that govern them. The only redeeming quality of the class are the resurrection points.

He gives lots of partial points on exams even on multiple choice questions and resurrection points!!! also very helpful has Q & A sessions every week. Very helpful one on one in office hours as well. He actually wants his students to do well. Exams are very similar to old exams. Like any Organic class not an easy class, you have to work for it.

Brilliant guy, awful professor. Simply doesn't know how to explain things, and lectures are useless. Resurrection points help, but the class average is generally so low that we need resurrection to get an average that passes. Take someone else if you want to do well and learn.

I repeat DO NOT take this man! He's a very intelligent man but he when it comes to teaching he is TERRIBLE! He spends the entire class time talking and writing chicken scratch on the board; and expects you to understand what he wrote even though he has the penmanship of a two year old. If you honestly care about your mental health do not take him.

This semester isnt even over and I am confident that I can speak positively about Dr. Morehead. Hes the best professor Ive had and he goes the extra mile(or 2) just to make sure his students do well. He has weekly review sessions and allows you to correct selected problems on tests for 10 points. I may not have an A but he makes orgo interesting

Very great professor! Honest, kind, and genuinely intellectual person I have ever seen. Very smart. I think he can write organic book if he can. He studied Harvard and Duke University. He is the chair of ECU Chemistry Department. Great chemistry professor in the history of my school. Take him and study hard.

Dr. Morehead is an excellent professor to take for Organic Chemistry, it's a difficult class, so no professor is going to be easy!! He is lecture heavy, so skip class and you won't pass! Would 10/10 recommend for orgo!

Professor Morehead is a very nice guy and he is willing to help you learn the information if you put in the effort. Although it is very confusing to understand the information when he explains it. So, be prepared to visit the tutoring center frequently! Also, read the textbook before lecture because lectures just seem like review sessions!!

He knows the material very well but will talk over your head and present a lot of information in one lecture. Attending lecture and reading the textbook will help you survive. His tests are similar to his old exams, which he has posted on Blackboard. Simply attend the lecture, read the book, and look at old tests and you'll do well.

I had Dr. Morehead for Chem 2750 and he is one of the better professors I've had here at ECU. He is by no means an easy professor but he gives tons of partial credit on his exams (even the multiple choice ones). He has a tendency to talk over your head but at the end of the day, I feel like I truly know the material.

People say that Morehead is tough but really Organic is just tough in general. He posts his old exams online for you with extra practice problems, the homeworks offer bonus points, and only counts 5 out of 11 quizzes. The final is optional. He has clear expectations and tons of office hours to help where he basically gives out answers.

Dr. Morehead is a smart man and a good teacher. He's willing to help anyone. If you're not willing to read ahead and do ALOT of homework don't take this class. Organic is hard in general so effort is needed. Takes time to get use to his teaching but he's not as bad as some of his reviews.

Dr. Morehead is a wonderful professor, and he will do anything he can to help you, but you have to work hard. He makes you think and apply chemistry rather than just memorize information. He gives easy quizzes and homework though that will help you if you don't do so well on his exams. Study and go to the PTChis office hours and you'll be fine.

Pretty much never fully explained assignments and made chemistry a living hell, and this is coming from someone who made a very high grade in both high school and the lab required. Made me want to switch my major, thanks for nothing.

Lectures can be complicated when you get passed the first test. He doesn't curve tests except for the final exam. Attendance is a must, but don't fret if you miss a day. He posts all of his lecture power points online and posts practice tests for all of his tests with an answer key. He always has test reviews that are extremely helpful

He is a very smart man, so sometimes what he says will go over your head. However going to his weekly Q&A sessions and office hours will help a lot. He gives extra credit on homework and on tests if the class average is low. Overall a very good chemistry professor!

He's lectures can be confusing some times but he does have question and answer sessions once a week that are great to go to and really helpful. Also gives out a study guide for all exams and if you know the study guide, you will do well on the exams.
