He knew what he was talking about. And i feel he is a good professor. Although, he also had some personal problems through this semester. I think that is what affected his bad teaching this semester. If you take him, make sure it is something that you like, or it will be a bad semester. I was a math major, i loved it. But he was questionable.

Worst math teacher I've had. Unorganized, didn't listen to student's questions, sample problems did not resemble test problems, he takes smoke breaks, held the final a week early and took two days for the final when the school gave him one. He yells "right!" alot and talks during the tests. People actually wore ear plugs. He is unprofessional.

Has integrity and a passion for math but he let's his personal life overwhelm him. He falls behind on syllabus after the 3rd week. He does have a heavy accent and speaks in mathematical terms. I will admit his curves on quiz's and test were very generous but I didn't learn because I always looked for a curve and an automatic 200 pts for doing hw.

He seems like a nice guy, super intelligent. It's just hard for him to clearly communicate with the students and vice versa. We haven't kept on track with the syllabus, tests keep getting moved around. Slow to return quizzes and tests. He likes to use super complicated problems in his tests, which are hand-written, but he curves generously.

If you are REALLY great at math take his class easy A. He likes to curve his tests and falls behind never sticking to his syllabus. Heavy accent. Likes to tell his life stories. Boring, but easy A if you go to class and are really great at math. If you suck at math then take another more helpful professor

I was very disappointed with this professor! It felt like no matter how much I studied it was impossible to get a good grade. He was hard to understand, never returned any tests back and was very unclear in his expectations. He had no style of teaching and moved test dates around too much, very unpredictable. Take with another professor!

Professor Vakilzadeh was extremely difficult to understand. Not able to clearly speak English. Not able to successfully teach mathematical concepts. Rushed five weeks of work into last two days of class. Classmates were so lost that they walked out of class part way through. He continued to test the material even though most were lost.

Very helpful and very nice! Has his own formulas, this guy mathematical genius, although not the best teacher. He will cover material until you get it, and by you I mean the whole class. Never checked homework, review class prior to test. Thick accent but he will make you learn. GREAT GUY all in all.

Explains everything very well. He breaks things down over and over until you understand it. Review sessions help a lot for the test. Go to class, do the homework(even though he may or may not collect it)and you should do fine.

This professor is the GREATEST professor. He is extremely understanding. I have taken him for all my calc classes and recommend him to anyone. Tests are exactly what he says they are. HW is NOT collected but sometimes he checks at the end of the semester to see if u were doing it. He is VERY flexible with test dates and often moves them around

Brief Calculus is a difficult class for some. Yet, this professor makes it very easy. He makes shortcuts, and his own formulas, which are way more easier than the book's way. Just make sure you attend class to understand his formulas. He is very helpful, don't be afraid to ask questions. Tests are pretty easy, he lets you know exactly whats on it.

I have struggled with calculus for two years now. For some reason, I never really could get a grasp on it. However, one day in this guy's class, and I'm able to do all the problems in my head practically. His English is a little shaky but understandable. He is definitely thorough and the best math teacher I've come across.

Grades unfairly, is not clear in his explainations, tends to favor certain students. Don't ever ask him to show you your grade.

Don't get discouraged after the first day! He's very smart with a unique style of teaching, but you'll get the hang of it. He teaches the full concept which makes me fully understand the work. He cares about students and helped me a lot. Excellent teacher!

Comment:
Most of our class had a hard time with his course. The test averages were below 50%. He is difficult to understand and does not explain things clearly. Yes he's smart but he can't teach so that doesn't count for much. He can also be very rude by announcing grades out loud in class, and if you ask him not to he will refuse to let you see your grade.
