Buy the book. I didn't I regret it I could have done better if i had the book. Why? because his book has a lot of the information he will use on exams and such. Buy book write every note down cuz he will ask you for things that weren't on the slides. discussion was good tho.

HWs hard because you click submit and your grade appears but it clears all your answers. You don't know which you got wrong and have to refill them to try again. Uses his own textbook which is v helpful, but lectures were not and I'd zone out. Not the best professor at all, but gives you the means to succeed. Still don't think I understand econ

I took his ECN 1B in Fall 2019 His class is so easy. You just read the lecture slide and you can do the homework and tests. I do not see why many people do not even understand the material. A 90 is sufficient to get A+, and 86 is the borderline for A.

His exams are very challenging, but not unreasonable. I think his lecturing style and knowledge of the material is adequate. However, his HW assignments are very, very frustrating to deal with, due to the convoluted and awkward way that he asks questions. Plan to spend a lot of time doing them.

Despite microphone issues, he is a really great professor. Very helpful when asking questions and most of the practice questions are similar to those in the actual test. One of the easier professors I have had as a Man Econ major. Would definitely recommend as long as he fixes his microphone. He genuinely cares for his students. Just do the work.

He's a really nice guy but not that great of a professor. Want to succeed? sit in the front to hear him cause his microphone never works, do all the practice questions cause they are very similar to the actual test, go to econ tutoring for hw help. His lectures are all from his book that costs $90

Im not an econ major so thats why I struggled but take this class with anyone else. He is a really nice guy, but has a strong accent and lectures are confusing with strange word choices. There are really hard homeowork assignments every week. There is no curve, he just passes the top 80 % of the class and drops the bottom 20%.

Comment:
The professor grades in such a way that the top 20% get As, the next 30% Bs, next 30% Cs, and so on. The homework was helpful exam preparation, and all homework questions were explained clearly during discussion. The professor sometimes talks quietly, so it is hard to understand what he is saying. He also rushed the last chapters of the course.

Dont take ecn with him... the practice exams are nothing like the real ones, the questions seem to be tricky on purpose. He also mumbles while he speaks so understanding him during lectures is difficult. Homework has nothing to do with the exams, which are 80% of the final grade.

Please AVOID this class at all cost. I'm an econ major and I hated this class so much! I wanted to change my major because of him. The test is nothing like what you do in class and the hw doesn't even correlate. Just read his textbook, but please don't take this class!! It's honestly too much work and studying for a easy ge/lower div.

This teacher is a non-native English speaker and his knowledge of English is not what I would consider proficient. This makes test and homework questions weird and much harder to understand than they should be. Second, he directly misinformed me about a homework due date, and homework format which caused me to lose many points. nice prof, bad class

Great professor! His lectures are not dense at all, but requires some understanding. There are 10 hw assignments with unlimited attempts (although you need to put some effort in it) Be aware of the word questions on midterms! Also, for his class, there is no textbook required and he provides helpful practice exams.

Pretty straightforward class, don't need the textbook since he bases all his slides off the textbook. Two midterms and a final, 10 hw questions every week. Attend your discussion sections because they're crucial to you understanding the hw. Overall good professor

Very nice and funny, and he is well-spoken. Notices you if you come to every class. The practice exams and homeworks are very helpful for the midterms and final. The class is curved, so you only need to be in the top 20% for an A.

He has heavy accents but is an interesting lecturer. You will get an A as long as you go to the lecture or carefully read the textbook. There's homework with 10 questions once a week. Midterms and final are fair. Recommend to take as GE class. :)

In a 500 students class, only 200 register this one. Books cover everything, but its 70 dollars. There are also some exceptions in the exams weighting 10 percent. This probably only students who go to the lecture can get correct answers. Lectures are literally bad, for his strong accent and weird word choices. This man RUINs my interests in ECN!

Lectures are very confusing. He's so nice but not a good lecturer at all. Tests are hard and nothing like the homework. the homework takes forever. tests are confusing and weirdly worded and his text book is even more confusing and unhelpful. However he curves the entire class at the end so that's helpful

He is nice and interesting. The lecture is easy to understand. He posts textbook and slides online. All three TAs are helpful, and help with assignments in discussion and office hour. One assignment on Canvas per week with five attempts. All easy calculation questions, as long as you have basic math knowledge. Strong curve. Take his 1A if possible!
