Lecture powerpoints were disasters and she could never seem to put together a clear thought. Not clear with when assignments are due or how to do them. Good luck trying to understand the syllabus. Material is easy stuff but the way the class is taught is impossible to understand the main ideas. Don't go to class and teach yourself instead tbh.

Comment:

We wasted a full 2 weeks worth of time because the teacher didn't understand basic technology such as how to type a URL or how to use USB or Bluetooth. Every class started with 10-20 mins of her trying to get the technology working until giving up or one of the students did it for her. The text and the labs were a joke; we did coloring pages etc.

Excellent class. Really useful material and should be required of all college students. Materials are available for study outside of class but lectures interesting. Lots of assignments but they were connected to content and fun!

I loved Barb. Probably the nicest and most helpful professor I've had here. There's no required textbook & she uses powerpoints. She does go a little fast but if you go to class and study by the study guides you'll do well. Plus its a wicked interesting class.

Comment:

One of the worst classes taken. Rushed text-filled slides, forced worded lab reports that were nit-picked by a crazed TA, and exams with very vague or misleading questions. If you haven't taken a biology class or written a lab report in a while, I would NOT take this class.

Learned next to nothing in class. Forced word lab reports like a fourth grader. Class time wasted by flying through slides too quickly and followed by comments like "it's o.k., they're all online" -- so why did I bother sitting here? Couldn't even seem to put a complete thought together most days. Really nice woman-one of the worst professors.

Barb is a very thoughtful instructor, and presents material in an interesting way. I had no trouble following the study guide for exams, and she gives details about what is going to be covered....not sure what the other rater meant! I loved this course!

Barb is a nice woman but an incompetent teacher. Her questions on exams are EXTREMELY vague and half the time she gives you 2 correct answers. Her study guides are not helpful at all (the basically give you 15 bullets of broad ideas) which makes it very difficult to study for her exams. I do not recommend Stressed Out to anyone.

This class is insanely easy--a definite product of GRADE INFLATION. If you don't mind paying that much money to learn out of a book then take this class. She IS very nice and helpful, but the material could be explored more. There is almost zero student accountability in this class. Walk out with an "A" and a couple grand in the hole.

Barb was an excellent professor. She is very good one on one with students. Take the online tests seriously and go to class because you get points for your clickers. take advantage of extra credit projects.the only bad thing is that sometimes she talks a little too much and get carried away. i got an A in that class and i loved it

Barb is great. She can ramble sometimes, and her lectures are color coded funny, but she is a doll. always there to help if you need. online quizzes and tests are easy, you have to write reflection paper and a couple small written projects. getting an A if you do your work is no problem.

Barb white is about the nicest, best teacher, ever, in the world, ever, wow. Stressed out is an amazing course, barb white keeps it real, and she's always there when you need to talk. I'd take any class that she would teach.
