Comment:
His lectures are pretty boring with the way he presents the information. You have to be very passionate about electromagnetism to get anything from them. Otherwise, get ready to teach yourself. The main problem with his lectures is he shames people for not asking questions, but when they do he addresses them in a bit of a condescending tone.

The only reason why I passed this course was from the txtbook and his notes. The man CANNOT teach. You couldnt learn anything if you tried. Just runs through a bunch of "easy" questions that makes no sense to anyone there. States that no question is a stupid question, then makes you feel like an idiot. Thank god for the curve.

Incredibly boring speaker, just drones on rattling off variable names without giving a decent explanation of what each one is. Seems like there was minimal oversight of TAs for the quizzes and labs, as while I had nearly 100% on those sections, I barely passed the final. Hopefully standardizes the material across PA sessions more in the future.

You can tell he knows a lot on the subject. Be prepared as the course covers a lot. Challenge yourself and you can do well in this class. As of 2018 he uploads good highlighted course notes and practice problems to keep up with. These notes are not the exact same as his slides, but its the same information

John Rogers is tough but he knows how to teach. This old lunatic does not know how to teach... he should take CCDP. He asks you to prepare for next lecture when he doesn't even upload the notes for it until the next lecture is taught. he got his own simplified slides which he does not share but only in lectures. Hes not sure why 20% show up SMH...

Very bad prof, his lectures are boring and he just reads off the slides. His notes are terrible making you do more steps then needed and complicates simple concepts. There's less then 20% of attendance in lectures, even tho he says its a must to pass going to lectures don't actually help. Good luck paying attention and doing well if you have him.

Worst prof in elec. Gives suggested practice problems throughout the semester. Midterms throughout the semester coincide with the degree of difficulty from problems. Final exam...good luck...gets off on failing students

He will shake you in the first class. He assumes everything is easy and you should know. If you dont you are busted. He goes so fast that you cannot even copy half of the staff. He uses slides for examples which he skips almost all the steps. Or he is gonna tell you should know this... "There is no reason why you should not get this" ughhh!!!

The worst prof in engineering. Avoid him as much as possible. This course is guaranteed to be your worst in all of your engineering classes. Take it seriously.

Gave problems from sections he had specifically told us to ignore. Most people had to go up to get midterms remarked due to bad marking. Talked in the same room while we were writing midterm. It was distracting.

Be ready to WORK! You will never spend more time on assignments than you will in Syrett's class. If you take a class with Barry, expect to leave knowing more about the subject than you thought possible. But at the expense of all your other grades, your social life, your health/sanity, etc...

He could be a good teacher but he is extremely rude to students. I think he is paranoid. Always stressed out and make you feel as if he is going to jump on your neck the next moment. He ought to be friendly and learn to listen before giving answers.
