Comment:
Cooperman is super knowledgeable about what he teaches, and clearly just wants to share what he's passionate about. He's really funny and an interesting guy to talk to outside of class. There's a few extra credit opportunities through-out. Overall I quite enjoyed class with cooperman, though you do have to try to get an A.

Please for the love of God dont take him if you have another option. He shouldnt be teaching anymore. It is now finals week & he hasn't updated our grades since October (2 months ago) so I have no clue what I have in the class. His lectures make no sense, his powerpoints are random, it's hard to know what to write down, he talks about useless crap

Cooperman himself is so funny! He loves to swear and make jokes. The class was kinda boring and I typically tuned out since he would go off on long stories. I really didn't learn anything even though I went to class almost every time and took notes. Biggest complaint was the papers felt so random and difficult and also Cooperman is SO unorganized!

I had a positive experience in Professor Cooperman's class. A lot of reading, but it is necessary for a class that covers a lot of material. Professor Cooperman makes his lectures more interesting by occasionally using profanity and humor. This is definitely a class that you should be sure to form a strong relationship with the TA to succeed.

I really didn't like this class. It was boring and Cooperman was all over the place. He was more bent on arguing than teaching the material, leaving the teaching to the textbook (which was super dense material). TA was super great and understanding, but he and the prof were not on the same page, which made the class hard.

Dr. Coop is a super cool guy but he's all over the place during lectures and the powerpoint slides he puts up are just on the points he wants to talk about; which makes note taking extremely difficult since he just rambles on and gets off topic relatively easy. His study guides before exams are gr8 bc its just all the prompts he puts on the tests.

Also JWST289E. He was very good at lecturing. Very funny as well. You need to go to discussion. Lots of readings. I didn't do any.

There is no textbook, so you NEED TO TAKE NOTES DURING LECTURE. Each week there was an assigned reading (on his website). Ranges from a chapter to 3. He is very flamboyant and is fun to be taught. However, it can be hard to understand what he is talking about. The papers were fair and easy, and his exams are easy. PARTICIPATE. Good triple GE class

The lectures for this class were so engaging and I loved attending them. I originally signed up to fulfill a GenEd requirement, but I became really interested in the subject matter. This course requires a lot of reading, but the assignments are reasonable and doable. I highly recommend taking a class with Dr. Cooperman.

Really funny and hyper. Has so much energy and loves joking around. Gets very passionate. Loves saying "THE KEY POINT OF THIS COURSE" every 3 seconds. Tons of reading but it is actually really interesting. Great class. Hard, but you learn a ton. Randomly yells certain phrases, has a really enthusiastic persona.

Assigns lots of readings for discussion, so keep up with them. Come to class with a riot to present at the start for a slip of paper; these are your participation points. Get 5 for the semester for full participation credit. Make sure you explain it fully and can answer questions or you won't get the slip. OK choice if you need an I-series course.

Lots of reading and difficult assignments, but that's history. Is somewhat of a harsh grader-it is difficult to get an A in the class, tho he's fair. Very helpful with questions and explaining things.

This class is impossible. the amount of reading that is assigned is unbelievable and the only way to do well in this class would be if it was the only class you were taking. cooperman is nice but completely disorganized and all over the place.

Professor Cooperman is a really funny teacher and his lectures are pretty enjoyable to go to, despite his tangents on irrelevant topics. Its really important to go to lecture though bc if you dont you miss a whole section of history. GO TO DISCUSSION to get little details which are neccesary for tests (2 papers and 3 tests - all essay)
