Great man, very smart, but does not always translate when he is trying to teach. Sometimes stumbles on his words. Picked very interesting books that were mentally stimulating. An entertaining class if you participate.

Comment:

I am not an English person but I enjoyed the readings and class discussions. However, he is a very very tough essay grader which did not bode particularly well for me. He's a really nice guy and will help you out, but has high expectations that I found were a little tough to meet for a 100-level english course.

Comment:

Great guy, really nice, cares about his students. He wanted me to become an English major after reading one of my papers and tried to encourage me to pursue my interests. In terms of class- it requires that you do the reading. If you don't you can still pull a good grade but the class discussions will be boring and you'll get a lot less out of it.

I had him for Freshman Preceptorial. He graded papers very harshly. For someone who is not a very strong writer or a humanities person, it can be hard to get an A in the class.

All around awesome teacher, but you have to work for your grade. If you don't do the reading, you won't do well. Simple as that. And yes, there is a lot of reading, but he picks very interesting (albeit challenging) books. Love the class :)

I had him for Autobiography in my junior year for my English Gen Ed credit....let's just say that I am NOT at all an english person. He chose wonderful books and his discussions were interesting. I always looked forward to his class. His written assignments were also interesting and he often gave us multiple options for an assignment.

I don't agree with whoever said this man was attractive but he's a great teacher. He obviously loves the material and is completely willing to help. If he give quizzes you grade them yourself, so if you're into cheating go for it. All you have to do is talk once in a while and show some brain waves. Nicest guy ever, i'm making him my adviser.

Kuhn has no idea as to what he is teaching. According to him he knows "the material so well, (he) can't put it into words." Yeah, tell that to my $37,000 a year tuition bill! To tenure or not to tenure...that is the question.
