Nice person but her style doesn't work for me! The guidelines for writing assignments (weekly) are very unclear and it is very difficult to get a decent grade on them. Tests are relatively logical, but the class work is so time consuming and useless. It was even described from her as "busy work". So boring and just painful! Take anything else!!!!

I wanted so much to like her! I enjoyed her lectures, thought I got the point and then got Ds and Cs on my exams and paper! I spent so much time on this class and felt that she was not at all fair in her grading , my partners got As and I could not get above a C! If she likes you great! If she doesn't you're screwed! I will not take her again

Professor Kiehl truly wants her students to gain a deep understanding of the material she is lecturing on. For this reason, her exams are written essays. She gives you the option of 3-4 prompts to choose from (you may only choose one), and then she grades you NOT on how well you can regurgitate facts, but how well you understand the concepts.

She is a cute little old lady but dang this class is hard! Her test are essay questions and you definitely need to write what she wants to here not really what you remember. If I have to end up retaking this class I will most definitely take it with a different teacher. She says she will help but her help is not always easily given.

There were literally 4 graded assignments, each tests (one was dropped as well). I literally did not pay attention once in class and only cracked open the book the night before tests and I got an A. Attendance is not mandatory at all. Her lectures are super boring but as long as you are slightly strategic this should be an easy A.

Interesting prof -- subject of death woven throughout but somehow she related it questions about freewill, hell, and other weird stuff. Sometimes lost, but she told us having questions about these things is okay

She tries her best to explain the materials, which is not that easy to understand. If you do all the readings and pay attention in class, you will get an A. Class is kind of boring though, as I fell asleep almost every lecture. (I still get an A for just reading the book)

During her lectures she pauses for long period of times, says "um" every other word and she has a horrible temper. She flipped out during class this past semester and it was unprofessional, dramatic and pathetic. Must show up to class. Tests are alright. Material is okay just make sure you understand the argument. Choose a different teacher for sur

This is by far the worst philosophy professor I have ever taken. She takes forever to get from point a to point b, and manages to confuse you on simple topics by dragging her feet. If you ask for clarification for her vague questions on exams, she will dock you points for talking. STAY AWAY.

Material is not the easiest, but she does her best to help, as long as you put in the time and effort on your end. If you slack off and don't participate, do not expect pity. One of my favorite teachers.

All take home exams.Just keep up with your reading. This is my second class with her (both A's). The material is hard but you get to take the test home and think about it. She is always there for office hours, answer all my questions clearly. Would recomend her to anyone.

Wow let me tell you! This class is not a cake walk it's pretty much fighting through hell and back. For people who are majoring in Phil will like the class for those who are taking it because its a requirment your going to have a hard time. Take home tests... Write it how she would write thats the only way I barely passed.

she really needs to retire. I felt like I tried so hard the first few weeks to participate and answer questions in class, and she was either very rude in her response or it made absolutely no sense at all. Take Philo. 102 from someone else if you can

At first material is strange, but once you get it its sooo boring and easy! If you sit in the front and email her questions she will give you a better grade and she is wierd with an attitude but if she likes you she will be really sweet.

This was the most BORING class I've ever taken. She is very grumpy, and if you try asking her a question she gets annoyed with you. Her take home tests are impossible. My mom has a BA in Philosophy, and she was shocked about the stuff Prof. Kiehl was making us do in a beginning class. DON'T TAKE HER!
