His class is a lot of fun, a lot of work, but it is so engaging I honestly don't mind the work. It is easy to make up lost points if you are willing to work some, it is easy to not have lost points if you are willing to work and learn. He makes the subject very interesting. This class is the reason I am finally decided on a major.

This class is difficult especially if you do not understand Phil. Tests are tough however Professor gives you every chance to do well. I suggest reading each chap twice and take notes as your reading. Would not take this class if your taking 2 or more classes in a semester because you have to devote time to this to pass. He gives great feedback!

Hes a very fair teacher. The online tests are hard because they are timed. You have 35 min to do 25 questions and sometimes you cant even read the question in a min or some questions you have to eliminate. Otherwise he lets you retake 1 test before the final and before every test you get a chance at extra credit.

Not a lot of homework but tests are tough so make sure you read and understand the material on the study guide. I like how he offers extra credit when doing the optional study guides. He doesn't give individual feedback for the discussion board postings but summarizes how everyone as a class did.

Pros: Does not assign a lot of homework, no final, and exams are pretty easy if you do the study guides. Cons: Study guides are time consuming.

Good class if you can keep up with it. The quizzes aren't too difficult if you actually read the chapter, but you really have to be interested and invested if you want to get good grades on the discussion board posts. He's always available for help and just wants you to think. Great philosophy class if you like the subject matter.

This was by far the heaviest workload /hardest of any class I have ever taken. I found out after the fact that one of my good friends took his class years ago and said that this was the hardest class she had ever taken to date and she just graduated from cal state. Do not take this as a summer class unless you have 14+ or so hours to commit to it.

Lockett is a good professor. He is very helpful. It's mostly reading because I took the class online but the book he chooses is interesting. The exam questions come straight from the Study Guide so make sure you do it. If you don't read, the test will be very hard for you. He gives you 2 weeks to read over each chapter.

This professor was really wonderful. He was respectful of all opinions and as long as you could come up with a logical argument for it you got full credit. The study guides were long, but invaluable.

I took this class online and had a great experience! As long as you read the chapters he assigns and do the study guides (which are 5 extra credit pts each time) you'll do fine on the exams. There's only two on campus and no final, and the paper isn't difficult. Definitely recommend this professor and online course!

Read the text and do the study guides. They are long, but they are extra credit and will help you with each exam. 2 exams must be done on campus. 1 paper, 1DB post and 1 classmate response each week. lets you retake your choice of exam at the end of semester. Nice guy, fair grader. Take him. He is not as bad as some of his reviews!

Took his online Phil 102 class and had a blast. While he is a little paranoid about cheating, but sadly, I cannot say it is without just cause. Read the text, and you will do just fine. His study guides for each test ensure an easy A and they count as extra credit. If you cannot be objective in what you believe, then this is not the class for you.

Online class, I don't know why so many people say it was so hard. The study guides are loooong but you get extra credit for doing them. Discussion board posts 1x week. Was an easy A for me

Mr. Locket is an awesome teacher. He is very passionate about Philosophy but makes it fun for people like me who have no interest in it. Do the Study Guides and Writing Assignments and you are guaranteed to pass his class. I highly recommend his class.

AWESOME. Take this class, whether you just need the GE or you're a philosophy major. Lockett is down to earth, funny, and passionate about philosophy. Fair grader, reasonable amount of class/home work. Do the study guides and you'll ace the tests. Lockett is definitely one of my favorite professors at Palomar.

He is really nice and cares for his students but material is boring. Easy A if you do all the work including the study guides, which really help with the quizzes. The text is hard to read and you really have to study for exams. He lets you have one page of notes front and back though! Recommend the teacher, but not the subject

I thought this class was so easy! I liked Lockett as a teacher, I just feel like I learned nothing of any value. What's the point of imagining my brain inside the body of a robot? This class turned me away from the study of philosophy because I thought the content was completely nuts! I wish we could've studied real philosophers instead.

This professor is really nice, but he is also very strict. I was just taking this course to transfer and it was a lot more difficult than i expected it to be. Take this class on campus not online. The book is very wordy and hard to teach yourself. You have two discussion boards a week, and two on campus exams and two online.
