I have taken a similar Geography course before and had a wonderful teacher so expectations were high going into the class. A very great teacher who teaches in a very understandable manner. Although heavily lecture-based, lectures are entertaining and informative. Gives great study guides for tests and only requires related readings. 10/10

The class I took with Professor Jokisch had 3 exams and a couple map quizzes. Our largest grade was based on a literature review of research on a topic that pertained to our class - Geography of Latin America. The paper was long/a lot of work, but the time in class was fascinating with the professor's countless descriptive stories and examples.

Dr. Jokisch is a great teacher. He makes the material interesting, and does a great job at teaching it. The notes are not posted, so you pretty much have to go to class. He is passionate on the subjects and helps tremendously by posting study guides and hosting study sessions before every exam. I would recommend this class to a friend for sure.

Cool guy really good lectures. You have to take notes and study maps but if you use the website Lizardpoint you'll learn the maps in no time. He really cares about his students and will hold review sessions outside of class which are very helpful!

Love this class! As long as you show up, study notes/maps, there should be no problem passing the class. Test are al multiple choice, and there are usually a couple bonus questions. He makes what could be a boring subject quite interesting!

A lot of the stuff in class is fairly boring, but he does a good job of making it interesting. His exams are pretty hard, and it is VERY important to study the maps. Honestly, some of his exams are unfair as a lot of the info is not on the study guide. Overall, I would suggest taking this class; but know that you will need to study.

He cancels class on occasion which is nice and always posts materials for the exams but going to class is a must if you want to pass the class.

Cares for his students, no textbook needed, easy A if your into the subjects. He is a great speaker which helps. On a campus filled with diversity this guy was a welcome change and felt familiar

Good at what he does. His class is clear cut and all you really need to do is show up. Very little reading and most of the tests are fro the lectures. Go to class and take good notes and you'll easily pass. No projects or papers, just five tests that you get a study guide for each. Test consist of info from lectures and readings, and map questions.
