Get ready to teach yourself Chemistry. Dr. Humphrey is nice enough but it doesnt help you learn chem. Sign up for Khan Academy, grab a TA that could use some cash and pray. You will learn nothing otherwise. Also, show up to lab. It helps your grade.

Professor Humphrey is a very nice man, but SOOOOO boring. It was a little painful to sit through his lectures not gonna lie, but easy A. There's no homework and theres 4 test throughout the year. The textbook is free online too

Mr. Humphrey is such a nice person at heart he really is, but man when he started the class he didn't go by the book. He jumped around so much and its chem so trying to catch your feet was almost impossible. You have to heavy self teach and I mean heavy. I want to like him so bad I just wish he was a better teacher.

the worst class I have ever taken. He teaches the class like you already know how to do chemistry. Don't get me wrong he is a nice guy and very understanding. but he doesn't understand that not all of use know how to do chemistry or understand how to do chemistry. it was a very challenging class. If you do get him drop out like asap.

The worst class I have ever taken. He does not explain a single thing (does most of the work in his head before writing it on the board) and is belittling if he perceives the answer to your question to be obvious. He is a nice guy, but I would not recommend taking his course.

I was miserable all semester in this class. He's a nice guy but doesn't explain the material well at all. Anything I learned in this class I basically taught myself. Failed most of the tests & probably the final. But he will let you test correct IF you ask him, and he curves every test. I ended up with a B- so I guess theres that.

Hes a sweet, funny and understanding man but hes just terrible at explaining material so his lectures are something to think about I got a C on my first quiz but did well on the 2nd. Hes grades from easy to average because he curves and gives extra credits to students. However I felt like I didnt learn much as I was supposed to.

Terrible at explaining but is a funny guy. There's three tests, a final, and a lab grade. Lab must count for a lot. Everyone did terrible on the tests but he curved them like crazy so I somehow ended up with an A.

He's funny but does a poor job at explaining the info. He curves insanely, basically the only way to pass. His test reviews cover everything, yet the exam focuses on only sections of what he has taught. His tests are heavy in the math, know how to do the problems. He does not answer emails and uploads the test review a few days before.

He is a great Professor, he really cares about the students, he understands the class is hard. He makes tons of jokes about it, he is very sarcastic and understanding. He curves tests like crazy and the lab is very easy. If there is any Professor you'd want for chemistry it's him.

For a student who doesn't care-this class is great. However for someone who actually wants to learn and be taught by a TEACHER - stay away. This guy does not teach. The worst professor I've had at Montclair.

He is amazing, I only came four times to class the first day and the other were test days and he never failed to wipe the smile off my face! Hilarious, he is the worst grader but the best teacher who loves to curve! If I failed I would retake again. He is like the Kevin heart of Msu.

He is a nice person, however does not explain the material well. The material is super easy, though, just study before the test because he doesnt make them himself, so tests are somewhat to think about.

The tests were hard but he curves like crazy. If you do well in lab it will literally save your overall grade. Great guy and he will help you if you just ask.

As far as easiness goes, wouldn't say he was the hardest professor ever but Chem is hard to begin with. But the lab grade helped a lot. I skipped plenty of his lectures and failed all of his tests and still managed to come out with a C+

He has a very dry sense of humor and he really does not care what students think about him. People say he is disinterested but he claims it is more because he has Parkinson's. He is such a sweet man and he curves tests too, but he did not explain things clear enough for me to be interested or understand so I do not feel as though I learned much.

LOVED him. One of my final courses of college and he made it bearable. He's cynical, funny, super-smart and ready to relax & retire (he deserves it!!) Felt bad that the university doesn't have a handicap parking space for him (MSU is SO rude). He's really helpful in terms of the curve as well.
