Comment:

Bruce is one of the most passionate instructors I've had. Knows math like the back of his hand, which is two sided. Can get long winded and repeat concepts, which takes up time and means you have to teach yourself sometimes. Homework is harder than tests, practice exams are good help. Extremely nice, genuine guy. Would take again.

Professor Peckham is one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. He knows math like the back of his hand and doesn't mind helping students to understand the material. The classes he teaches are hard, but there is nobody I could recommend higher to take a class with than Professor Peckham.

Comment:

I took Peckham's Honors Calculus 1 Course, and it may very well be the toughest course I have taken. On the other hand, never have I learned math so well before. He has a true passion for what he does and it's easily seen in his teaching, he tends to ramble on but is extrmelely helpful during office hours and doesn't mind putting in the extra help

Comment:

Even if you've taken Calc before you need to go to class. The homework can be very time consuming but he is very helpful and will take more time than necessary getting you to understand. Quizes and Tests can be difficult and he likes to throw in some difficult questions but there is lots of extra credit. He's a great Professor and a great guy.

My problem with this prof was that he can talk for 20 minutes over the end of class time, and still doesn't say anything. Everything I learned in this class I learned out of the book. The people who like this class are the people who like to learn without any help from a teacher. This was the hardest class I have ever taken.

He's willing to explain anything for as long as it takes. Tells you what to expect on test. Keeps lectures interesting because of all his jokes. Even if you don't like math, he keeps things interesting, one of the best professors I've ever had.

Took Peckham for a Dif Eq class in 1999. I was just about maxed out as far as what I could understand mathematically, but I really liked the prof and, therefore, the class. He was easy to understand and willing to help with questions. Plus, he seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

I took atleast two classes, one undergrad and one grad course. He is one of the best. And is extremely helpful during office hour. If you nothing else, just talk with him about Dynamic Systems. You can spend hours without feeling bored. Thanks Bruce

Very hard to follow. Does not explain things at all and does no examples. He needs to learn how to teach things better. Not all of us are in upper math courses.
