Comment:

You get a quiz at the first 10 minutes of class with 10 questions. Read your lab manual. 2 practicals "midterm" and "final" Hard to get in touch with outside of class. Doesn't email or answer phone. He is very passionate about what he teaches. I could have done better in lab if I studied better!

Comment:

Only grades you get are the quizes and two tests. The quizes are 8 questions everyday of class. Around 5 are from the previous class and 3 from the current one so you have to read ahead of time. Two points for attendance at the end. You just do the questions on the manual, show him, he checks it, and you can leave when your done (usually early).

I had a conference for work early in the semester, already paid for by supervisors long before the semester. Prof. Yorke refused to excuse the absence. Due to a strict absence policy, I was dropped (He drops after 2) with a month left in the semester. Did not help students. Left class for 20 minutes at a time regularly. Dry lectures.

worst instructor ever! doesn't cover chapters well. gets upset if you ask questions. is not helpful during labs. and make dumb sexual jokes that just aren't funny. he is cares less for students. He dropped a student without them knowing for being late 5 mins twice when class. poor lectures very little info more time is spent on trying to be funny.

Quizzes every week , gets frusterated when asked questions, tries to hard to be funny. Doesn't understand other's situations and forces you to work on team with your table. And if you partners don't help you that's your problem.

awful teacher, almost failed this class. he never explains anything and then wonders why people get 2/10's on his quizzes.... and the lab practicals... i failed both of them (and so did my entire class, minus like, one person). he tries to be funny but it just doesn't work out. this class literally made me question whether god exists or not...

Don't take this class if you want to pass. He does not give nearly enough time for tests 35 sec a question was all that was given. He is super strict on phones they have to be turned off on the cubbies with your bag he can't even be able to see a water bottle in your cubbie or you will get kicked out. He dropped students w/o their knowledge

Just no. He doesn't care about the student or their grade. Since the exams are based off lab work, make sure you go over it yourself and correct it, because he won't. I received an F in this class, but I passed biology with an A because my lecture professor actually cared enough to correct wrong answers. If you are currently taking him, good luck!

HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Worse lab teacher to ever take! You can't make up any of his classes if you miss, he locks the door if you're late, which is ridiculous this is college not high school. You can't hear a thing he says even with a microphone and he leaves the room for about half the class time. You can't even bring in water A water bottle. Rules suck

Weekly quizzes. Mainly on the lab itself. He leaves an hour to and hour and a half out of the three hour class period. Once I asked him for advice to improve my quiz scores and all he said was "use YouTube", not an easy class already. And he is deaf and speak low with a microphone on still when he gives his 40min lecture on what we will do on the lab prior. Wouldn't recommend.

Dr York was fair. Attendance is a must (quiz at the beginning of every class on the previous week's lab and the current) and you cannot be late. Listen to his instructions and work with your lab partners. For the lab practicals, just going over the labs worksheets for study material.

No need to do the preliminary lab report No study guide for lab practical. Poor amount of information given. 8 Quiz questions every day based of the booklet (some repeat the next week). the lab work is worth the other 2 points for a total of 10. 2 Lab practical worth 60 pnts each. Wrong questions are not reviewed from any test. I wouldn' retake him

I LOVED going to Dr. Yorke's lab. He made teaching fun and we were able to work in teams which I enjoyed! I strongly recommend him to SERIOUS students!

Not an easy class for me. Dr. Yorke gave good explanations of difficult material and graded fairly. Attendance in the class is mandatory. Lab is divided into teams, which helps a lot. I highly recommend this teacher for those students who are curious about biology.
