The only ECE prof with a heart. She is so understanding and caring. Her lectures were 2 hours but I wouldn't feel the time pass because they are just amazing. She actually teaches you to "think" and her communication is just brilliant. In second year second term this course is the best. Absoloutely satisfied with this course. No complaints.

Comment:
Her way of teaching and testing reinforces memorization, hence class average is higher than other EECE courses and people find her courses easier. Not a coincidence that I get 10-20% higher than class average on all my courses, except the courses she taught.

Comment:
This class is technically flipped but its execution really kinda sucked. However when she lectured the class, it all made sense because she goes over multiple examples and assures you understand it mostly. Quiz averages sit around 40% but the scale takes care of it at the end. A good prof but a really hard course.

Carol is a very nice lady and good lecturer, unfortunately for her she has to teach the hardest course in 2nd year ELEC. The course is an absolute nightmare in terms of content and trying to understand how to solve most of the problems. No one can blame her for that, its not her fault the course is difficult. Don't skip, take notes and practice.

Comment:
This is one of the hardest most time consuming courses I've ever taken. The mini projects are easily 40-60 hours of work (I am not being hyperbolic). The grading on the quizzes was pretty harsh (little to no marks given for setting the problem up correctly - most points come from numerical answers). I'll be hobbling across the finish line.

Good lecturer. Willing to answer questions, and will spend the time to make sure you understand her answer. The mini projects are long, and require a good deal of clarification in office hours ("How was I expected to know that"); she is reasonable about deadlines. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of solved practice problems to study.

She just restates whatever is in the textbook. Also, she does not look confident with the material she is teaching.

great prof. excellent notes. no textbook provided.. but get the hayt & buck textbook on electromagnetics if you want better than an 80.. without it its impossible... she expects way to much on exams.. out of the scope that she teaches.

Hard course. Some consider it one of the hardest in 2nd year. I find that the quizzes were hard because you almost needed complete mastery of the subject if you wanted to get the questions right. Other than that, midterms and final aren't that tough. You need to do some concept building and know what all the formulas mean, then you should be fine.

One of the best profs in EE. She gets the message across well. Gives a very clear expectations and the exams are very similar to the practice problems. Tries to make the class interesting by showing concrete examples (she brought motor parts to class to show us how they work exactly).

not a bad prof. i can tell she's trying her best do do her job, but she's not that great. she speaks way too fast, lack of focus. her notes are quite useful. the assignments from her are not enough. you need to do and try more problems from the textbook, or you will have a tough time during the exams. also, this course needs calculus a lot!math263

Best Elec Prof Ever... I don't take ELEC but she makes learning this stuff really easy. Very helpful, notes are okay. Just pick up an old textbook off a friend to practice for tests. Awesome Prof!

A great teacher. Her notes are organized and laconic. I also like her effort to relate the material to real life applications. My only complaint would be that she tends to speak with monotone throughout the class. Otherwise, i believe this coures would be lively and inspiring.
