Comment:

Dr. McClenahan is great. She is very real and tells you exactly what she thinks of your work. I would definitely take her again. Criticism is very beneficial people! And more often than not, "nice" professors are not good professors.

She... was the bane of my existence for 7 weeks. I will avoid her like the plague in the future. She reads a book, decides what the author was thinking, and teaches you her skewed view of the reading. I wrote a paper based on what the actual author of the book thought about his novel, and I got a C on it and was told I "didn't understand anything."

She is very hard on students. She expects alot out of all of her students, and comes off as harsh quite often. She will rip you apart in papers, and make you feel less than respected...but I actually learned alot about how to technically approach my papers.

Great professor!!! As a lit class, it's the best to be encouraged to discuss what you're reading. She guides the groups and you end up learning from it. Occasional points for attendance and frequent quizzes (easy if you've read and they're open book!) The novels we read were good - and I thought I hated reading! Take her if at all possible for 121.

Overall a good class. Shes a fair grader who loves to hear what you have to say, but going to the class is kind of boinrg, all you ever do is sit in groups and talk about the book you're reading, and attendance is mandatory. But, she likes to hear what you have to say, and she also loves to give reading quizes when she knows people didnt read lol

People say she picks favorites, but she really just likes people who participate and think. She's got a tough exterior, but she really does care about her students. She is such an intellectual, and she will challenge you to be one too. Take her class, but don't expect a blow-off course. It's fun, but not so easy that you can skip all the time

I mean, she's okay. She's an easy grader... if you agree with her ideas. I wrote a paper apperently calling one of her favorite authors a hack and she gave me a D. I've never once in my life recieved such an awful grade. Take her class, but be sure you do the work and don't take anything she says personally. You'll be fine.

Pretty nice outside of class, but I hate to say that I didn't like her class at all. She was extremely picky about grading, confusing about what she wanted and what she was even talking about, and if you gave the wrong answer she basically ignored you and asked someone else. Def. played favorites. I try to avoid taking her classes.

She is an extremely intelligent woman with a great taste in literature. She loves what she does, and it shows in her teaching and her enthusiasm to help students and to provide them with something valuable. I've taken her for three classes, and I've loved every one!

ok so the journal sucks, its called copy & paste, she cant tell because i did it.i got an A in there, u dont even have to read the books-use cliff notes.shehas these mood swings sometimes,possibly menopause or pms.the book she assigned turned out to be good, which involved lots of sex & affairs.
